Since last year’s launch of the World Builder and the addition of Steam Workshop into Company of Heroes 2 the game’s community has created nearly 2,000 maps. All of those maps are playable in the game, and easily used in Custom Games.
While we knew that we had a lot of talented map creators as fans, everyone at Relic was both surprised and delighted by the strong response. And while we’ve added select community created maps into the game going back as far as the days of the original Company of Heroes, we wanted to find another way to showcase the best of them.
Today we’re happy to introduce the Community Map Rotation. Five community made maps, selected by Relic’s design team, will be integrated into the game for a limited time.
We’ll be monitoring feedback on the maps, and possibly even asking you a few questions on how you like them. There’s a chance that a few of them could become a permanent fixture in the game, if that’s what the players want.
And after the limited time is up the maps will be replaced by another batch of five community maps, and the rotation will continue.
Want to get a map into the Community Map Rotation? Make sure it’s in the Company of Heroes 2 Steamworks Map pool and get other people playing it. We’ll be choosing our future Community Map Rotation selections from the top rated and top played maps in Steamworks.
This rotation’s five maps are:
(2-8) Narva River
(2-4) Overgrowth
(4-6) Lemberg Fall 1944
(6-8) Pinsk Marshes
(2-4) Karelia Summer
Thank you to all of our great map makers for all their hard work.
