Greetings everyone,

Just curious what's the best/proper way to use smoke grenades against MGs/Garrisoned MGs?

Do you use the ability on top of the enemy unit or in front of your own unit?

Couldn't find anything about it, and haven't had the time to watch US replays. Hoping you can help.

I throw it right at the base if his cone of fire. That way you have line of sight on the unit once you rush or flank but he has no sight in his line of fire. Usually I pop smoke and rush one rifle head on through the smoke and flank with another to try for the wipe. Mind you I'm not very good, but this is sound strategy.

If you use the ability on top of an MG or even tank, they become incapable of firing at all. So if your planning to rush the mg and take it out you must get at least 1 smoke nade on the MG.

However if you just want to soft retreat or leapfrog your way to get another smoke/ regular nade off throwing it in between the two squads is useful, just not quite as effective.

If you got only one riflemen you can easily throw smoke in front the MG from his maximum (viewing-) range (so you don't have to get suppressed) and proceed to run towards the MG. After that the MG should be in range for a regular grenade and can be forced off.

Oh, and smoke grenades can slow vehicles down too.
