The Eastern Front Map Pack

Disclaimer: This map pack consists of three 2v2 maps made by me with help of a lot of people from this forum. For a cleaner read, I will dissect my post into FIVE different post spaces.

Map List:

1. The Primrose Path
2. Pavlov's House
3. The Intersection

Introduction

I decided to make maps in the first place after noticing that a lot of relic's 2v2 maps are cluster-phobic, under-sized, and/or badly designed in other ways. Anyone who played Minsk Pocket, Semoisky Summer, Trois Point, Hurtgen Forest, Ettelbruck Station, Road to Kharkov in 2v2 setting knows what I am talking about. That is a lot of map: to put into perspective, they are six out of fourteen 2v2 maps available in auto-match (two more are over-sized but better than the mentioned six). So I got into the world-builder tool to make some good-ol' open and appropriately sized 2v2 maps like Rails and Metal, Vaux Farmlands, and Moscow Outskirts.

The maps were made for competitive plays, thus the design and balance of the map came first then the aesthetics. Although I think there are unique and detailed aesthetics on each maps which I put a lot of work into. All of these maps have medic and repair stations for greater strategic depths. Also, normal maps have 10 normal resource points, but my maps only have eight each. I did this to limit resources and delay teching for I love early and mid game.

Trailer

Additional Information:

I have updated 'The Primrose Path' and 'Pavlov's House' with new conventional tactical maps. But due to a fault of my own, I cannot simply update the map, but rather I have to publish the maps again with the new tactical maps. They may not seem as nice as other tactical maps of other map makers, but I am still learning photoshop and planning update the tac-maps soon.

Due to this, my further updates will be on the re-released versions of the maps.

(4) The Primrose Path (rural)

This map reflects the rural Soviet Union. This map includes tactically important grave yard, forest, farm field, and the river is cross-able for the most part for flanking. This map also has three different weathers as the game progresses!

Pavlov's House (Industrial/Urban)

This map is inspired by the legendary Pavlov's House, a soviet defense position (an apartment building) during Soviet Union's desperate defense against the Wehrmacht in Stalingrad, that lasted 8 weeks against an overwhelming odds. This map includes tactically important re-imagination of Pavlov's House, the beachhead where Soviet troops used to come ashore to reinforce their comrades, a detailed cityscape, and a lot of complex trench systems.

The Intersection (Forest)

This map is inspired by the forest mechanic in the new the Western Front Armies expansion. Although inspired by them, the forest in this map is not as choke-pointy. This map includes a lot of things including forest, but most importantly, it has a very tactically significant defense emplacements (trenches, sandbags, buildings, and watchtowers) in the middle where all the roads converge that will attract a lot of fun and different engagements than in any other 2v2 maps. This map also has a dusk to morning transition!

Magnificent maps, I have a few tips:

(4) The Primrose Path (4p_pionersky)
- The river in some areas should be more narrow as '4p_forest_intersection'
- VP east, it is difficult to defend that point with tanks to the south player (The bridge is positioned obliquely).

The other maps 100% OK

thanks for the feedback and i will try to implement the changes, especially one about the balance issues.

These are some great maps! :-P Played a few last night and really enjoyed them.

Only criticism from me was that (at the beginning) The Intersection was super, super green. Faded as the weather changed and became much less...vibrant. Still, didn't effect how fun it was to play. :-P
