I'm not much of a Soviet player, but I can see that problem.

I don't quitte understand how that would fix it's too high price or the fact that the M3 doesn't scale very well. No one complains about the M5 so i don't see how stats looking more like those of the M5 would disturb anything.

A CP reduction doesn't really help, as it's still coming out mid-game where something with 5.4 armor isn't going to make much of a difference.

It hardly needs a LOT of armour.
But 5.4 is enough to lose to a Sturmpio squad, and that's just generally embarrassing for a half-track.
