One M8 motor carriage sorts that out... or if you think 3 units makes combined arms, you could out-muscle head on with M1919s. The US has the better LMG blob, after all.

It's the most micro-intensive vehicle in the game. It's very powerful but incredibly fragile, which makes it very risky to use on the offensive without a giant infantry screen. One wrong drive in a PaK's range means pulling it back for repairs immediately at best, and destruction at worst.
If you want a decent counter as Ost, get PaKs or also a Stug to cover your heavier tanks. Jackson doesn't have the durability to quite win a slugfest against the cheaper Stug, and the heavies/PaKs protect against flanks. Same with Jadgpanzers for OKW, and Pumas can also track them down and destroy them very well.
Also, if your opponent has a massive infantry army as well as a few Jacksons running around, it may very well be you lost the match before it was out.

Paks are the only real counter- StuGs are the absolute last vehicle I'd ever build to fight a Jackson. It's the hardest-countered armored vehicle of the whole Ostheer arsenal, except maybe the Brummbar, by the M36... especially since after it takes one shot from the M36 you have 5.5 seconds to get behind a shotblock or out of range (good luck escaping the faster Jackson) before the second shot kills the StuG outright.
Jagdpanzer is better, it actually has the range to compete, but it costs more than the Jackson even unadjusted for OKW income. Pumas can swarm enmasse if the M36 isn't screened by anything. Rear Echelons with Bazookas or just a Captain can do that.
