Thanks to Aimstrong who played 2v2 with me to show me the two new armies, i just noticed CoH2 has completely turned to click and play. Call of Duty (CoD) has kinda the same role in FPS games.

All these infrared scopes and secondary abilities for almost every unit is kinda mehhh... dunno what to say :/ in company of heroes 1 i needed to watch expert plays or my own replays to find out my own mistakes or learn new tips from experts to get good in the game but in CoH2 i think i need to pay for new commanders and armies to get to know their units and their counters. i remember i played one 2v2 with spanky ages ago and there was some units from soviets that could deploy from buildings like fallschrimjaegers in CoH1 and we easily lost this game because i had no idea what to do since it was my first time seeing these units. well i honestly dunno if my post here makes any sense or not, i hardly play coh2 since the open beta until now i only have 98 hours game play including the single player story mode. %90 of my gameplay is from the Open beta, but each time i feel like playing this game again there are bunch of units added to this game for cash and i have no idea what they do and what to do against them.

I am not sure if the players love this sort of gaming industry or not, almost every game now has Pay 2 win feature for example look at Battlefield 4 you need to pay for golden battlepacks to gain some extra upgrades on your gun or become premium, or in counter strike we used to download some skins for our guns for free but now the item drops are giving you some skins which costs maybe a cent but on the other hand there are skins which you should pay $300 to get them, and COH 2 is not an exception either for both skins and units we should pay money. what has happened to people? the game its self costs less than these fancy upgrades and we used to have all these things for free in the past, why should we support this ideas? i honestly don't think its the developers mistake. those who pay and support these ideas are responsible. but if players are really enjoying this method then let it go like this, i have nothing more to add.

What a weird post. It is really easy to tell that you haven't been playing a lot if you still claim CoH2 has strong P2W.

This really isn't case anymore because the most powerful commanders aren't the paid ones.

Also what is this that you couldn't learn from watching experts / yourself? At the moment it's most definitely best way to learn because there might be some counter to some units that you really haven't thought of.

well, you should play more coh2 to judge really. i feels like you are having same problem i have with coh1. i really want to get into coh1 because ppl used to talk (still do) about how great and so much better it is then coh2. But i never do because i am just too used to coh2.

commanders aren't there to be pay 2 win. they are more like pay 4 more options. all imba commanders had been balanced to a great deal. and there had not been paid commanders since november. ppl always complain about commanders over doctrines in coh1 but if it wasnt for commaders, we would have not seen all the new units/abilities added (at least not to the full extent).

and WFA is pretty awesome.

thats exactly why i call CoH2 the CoD of RTS genre, can you ever make a CoD fan like a skilled shooting game? no ofcourse not, CoD is alot easier to learn it has no complicated stuff and same goes about CoH2 vs CoH1, i loved CoH1 because you needed SKILL+ prediction + reaction to win a game or atleast survive. but in CoH2 build and click to attack that's all. the problem is people who started CoH by CoH2 will not understand this. developers make the game more easy so more people can learn and more people will buy. these days games are not made for special fans they are being made for everyone, just look around you CoH 2 is not the only one, same goes about battlefield series. you can't compare Battlefield 2 to Battlefield 3 or 4 or the news ones becuase skill is GONE in new games.

"but in CoH2 build and click to attack that's all."

Somehow I get the feeling you haven't been all that successful in CoH2. A lot of people not making use of special abilities of units doesn't mean they are obsolete. Maybe you should play a bit more and then come back because CoH2 at higher levels is way more than "click to attack".

you can't just claim that CoH2 is simpler than CoH1 wtf. Prove it. Both are more/less complex in some ways. You're just like all the other CoH1 players who want to make everyone think that they're the hardcore, elitist, high skilled blah blah strategists because they played CoH1 and CoH2 is for 12 year old league of legend kiddies. The problem of all those CoH1 veterans is that they're so used to the old CoH1 interface, game flow etc that they hate coh2 but instead of admitting it they put the blame on the game itself. There are some exceptions of course like Twister and Daniel.

That's just how the model is. You can face units and armies you don't own. Otherwise the community would be fragmented, and it's not a huge community as it is.

People will find something to be unhappy with always but actually I think this system is pretty good. more info from Relic on which units do what would be better but that's Relic. They like a bit of mystery in the game.

o.O It's more like APM war and shows greatly the inbalanced stuff. Clearly you can do shit without decent micro at higher levels, but yeah vCOH 2 faction and the requirements are plain dump compared to vCOH, I think that's what the OP tries to point out. It did change since the release, the game is better now.

Buuut!!! Since WFA the game is getting better and better, I think once balanced it'll be coh 1 > coh 2.

Also the p2w system is the past :)

Coh 1 was not more complicated. There were still abuses that led to click to play. There was also that bridge problem that plagued the game most of its life time.

So coh1 is good because you need micro and resource management, but coh2 is bad because you need micro nad resource management?

K....so you barely played the game, and every time you play it for literally 5 minutes you see new units that you dont know how to counter?

Hmmm.....what might be the reason...

Oh yeah, you barely played the game. And then you tell us that you had to learn how to use units in CoH1 through expert replays or videos but at the same time you dont play the new game and then complain that you dont know how to use unit x.

WHY

I just wanna say CoD1, 2 and 4 were amazing. Never4get. Also you've admitted to only playing it for 98 hours. You have two options here, either give it a chance and play another solid 100-200 hours and re-evaluate your opinion, or move on with your life and don't play CoH2.

If you watch for high ranked players streams / SNF events you will find similarities from Coh1 in tactical movements & strategies.

Some units still need a rework but overall the game is getting good, p2w is less effective here but there are a few commanders that will need a rework (It should not be allowed to have good Inf, Heavy tank and arty in the same commander like Elephant or IS2/ISU commanders)

What is unskillful in CoD compared to CS? They are both basically the same thing minus killstreaks perks and weapon customization.

Yeah.. no idea what OP is about, seem to have a very strange attidude when it comes to new content.

Does he realize that WFA was an expansion? Commanders were borderline P2W (new war spoil system makes it kind of moot though) and skins doesn't matter at all.

Calling Coh2 the cod of rts is just factually wrong, everywhere, anyhow. I'm almost inclined to believe OP is trolling.
