Penals and Veterancy

Hey I have noticed since they infantry lethality rebalance that Penals seem to vet very very slow. Pre change I could get Penals to vet 2 in the first few engagements due to how much damage they could do. But now its well into mid game or late game before they seem to vet up.

Now they still do really good damage and their cost has been reduced. That used to be tied to their XP pool.

Does anyone know if Relic forgot to adjust the XP pool on Penals when they made them cheaper/weaker?

The PTRS's are fine as they are. Whenever i'm up against Guard Infantry, I always have to be careful with my vehicles or the Guards will completely destroy them. Good range, good damage and fairly cheap; if anything, the PTRS should nerfed since it's ridiculously good for the price. Even in the hands of Conscripts, the PTRS's are extremely potent.

Maybe your penals just dont get veterancy from satchels? (wiping squad with an satchel sometimes dont reward any xp/kills),

that happends sometimes, making it seem that they vet very slowly

Well before I used to get 1 Penal one Script run into two Grens and just keep merging the Penals. First fight I would usually end up with Vet 1 almost Vet 2.

I just messed around with a comp stomp and noticed one Penal squad (that took almost no damage) has 12 kills and still wasnt Vet 2. He ALMOST was vet 2. And he was killing mostly Grens. So that seems like an AWFUL lot of kills to not make Vet 2.

Remember that it´s damage > kills. Maybe some other units got the most hits rather than the Penals just killstealing

True which is why I am hoping someone can look at the game files. It may just be my imagination.
