I'm not sure if this is the case with ISU-152s. I thought I read a post somewhere saying that the penetration values in respect to HE rounds only applied to artillery. Can someone confirm/deny?

Hmmm.. I'm like "WTF? ISU152 have 152 mm howitzer on tracks! Why shouldn't it fire goddamn HE rounds?"

Relic clarified that ONLY Arty, ability and some FUTURE tanks will use HE rounds.

Then I must agree - Sturmtiger uses some navy arty cannon, above 300mm , short-barell.

I think maybe KV-2 in Siegemode counts as arty, aka has HE? (<--personal guess, nothing official about KV2)

But logically jackill is right. The ISU and the Sturmpanzer IV use the "same" howitzers, why shouldn't they be HE. And the Sturmtiger uses an even bigger howitzer/mortar (with rocket grenades as I just read).

For mor depth they could introduce an option for the assault guns (Stug, SU-76) to switch between HE and AT grenades. Though the SU has already the barrage for that and the Stug the HEAT round, so...

Can the Dev explain WTF did they do to Blitz?

Panzer takes no time accelerating to max speed before, and the new blitz removed increased speed and just increase acceleration. Are you designing an ability spending 30 muni for nothing?

They said they intend to change blitz is a retreat to safe spot ability, how the hell this can help escaping without speed increase? and also, popping smoke is the one of this use. Without high speed flanking, how the hell German can win SU85 spam or unbeatable ISU?

and fuck elefant, putting a single working counter in a doctrine is bullshit.

I didn't see people (except noobs) have problems with blitz before.

Really now, only noobs had problems with blitzing immortal panthers?

Anyhow, blitz might not be as good as on a panther as it will be on other tanks. But if this is a problem for you, I wonder why you never complained about the vet1 ability on the IS-2.

Also, SU85 spam < panzerschreks, pak40, pak43, or any tank using actual flanking manouvers instead of blitz from the front and circle strafing.

The ISU152 was a piece of shit pre patch. You could drive a panther or tiger straight up to it from 100 range and still kill it easily. Now it actually might be somewhat of a threat and you might have to *gasp* use actual flanking maneuvers.

For a guy who posted a big 'SOVIET L2P' thread after the last patch, you are doing a lot of whining when the patch is not even out yet.

As i understood, t34 after ram does not get destroyed main gun crit, so it should be able to fire? Correct me if I wrong

That depends if the crits are mutual. Or if the T34 always gets crippled and maybe the new rolling table is only for the Axis tank?

I guess that refers to the vehicle that's being rammed, at least that's what I hope lol. Otherwise it'd be like ram a vehicle to cause engine crit and finish it off with the same vehicle you used to ram it with, that would be so stupid.

And there's still some chance for the main gun crit to happen, but most likely just a light engine damage critical.

exactly the t34 gets "destroyed" and the main gun crit is for the german tanks, as TNrg said :)

Well, first because PQ said so.

He also said only arty use HE rounds.
Following this logic, mortars and rocket arty also uses HE rounds.

Which leads to the conclusion that shells that do not target entity or vehicles, but ground instead are all HE shells, which mean ISU concrete piercing round, B-4 direct shot[thou this might be an exception] and future sturmtiger rocket shot(because anyone thinking it will have normal autofire and won't be short ranged, mobile B-4 is mad).

So, only indirect fire can be HE. And some abilities. Because of its effectiveness. Right?

I'd rather assume its because of how indirect fire weapons work.

One targets units, other targets ground(or unit position in case of mortar autofire) over much bigger distances.

Whatever the reasons is, thats how it works.

At least the ISU-152 will become much more usefull.
Maybe they should raise the IS-2 reload time a bit but give him at least 200 damage?

To me it looks like t34/76 is made more useless vs Piv than before with Piv increase in armor and faster fire rate compared to more armor and better penetration for t34/76, but significantly slower fire rate and increased cost.

We will see how it plays out in the game tho

Ostwind looks like its going to be bad-ass unit this patch

A lot of people seem to say so, but why? I'm not questioning it, I just can't read it from the changes:

Armor from 105 to 110
Rear armor from 52.5 to 55
Penetration from 35 to 40
Cooldown from 0.6 to 0.5-0.7
Distance scatter max from 2.15 to 2.9
Manpower from 320 to 280
Fuel from 115 to 100
