2020 and onwards

Launch the Company of Heroes 2 Modding Tools from Steam
- Installation instructions: http://modding.companyofheroes.com/mod-builder
Click "Tools" and select "Archive Viewer"
In the Archive Viewer, load up the .sga file(s) you want to extract
Right-click the archive/file/folder in the treeview to extract it

Outdated instructions

This tool can be used to extract COH2 Map .sga files for viewing them in the WorldBuilder.

Save the downloaded executable to your Company of Heroes 2 installation folder*1.

Drag and drop the .sga files you want to extract over the window to begin extracting.
.sga files are stored in my games*2\company of heroes 2\mods\scenarios\subscriptions\

Download .exe

In order to open these extracted maps in WorldBuilder, you must copy the extracted folders to Company of Heroes 2 Installation folder*1\CoH2\Data\scenarios\mp

*1: By default COH2 Installation folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes 2\

*2: You can access your "my games" folder by clicking START or by pressing WIN on your keyboard and then by selecting "Documents" from the start menu. You should see the folder "my games" appearing in the folder you just opened.

Another way to achieve this is by pressing WIN+R in your keyboard and then entering "documents" without quotation marks and pressing enter. You should see the folder "my games" appearing in the folder you just opened.

late thanks but it seems like whenever I come back to mapping, my hard drive has gone through multiple format periods.

and I always come back to this to improve my old maps.

Hi! I have a problem with your map extractor. I select the sga what do I want to modify, and there I drag them to the application but there is a prohibited symbol, help!!!

Have you tried the official archive viewer? http://modding.companyofheroes.com/mod-builder

You have to extract the files from the archive viewer. Once you've extract the files, open the .sga up from Worldbuilder.
