I am buying a laptop tommorow. It will be my coh2 machine :/ . I just want to know that should i buy the one with AMD 7670M or the GT630M. Which will give me higher performance.
Generally i have read reviews that the AMD one is a bit faster but can anyone tell me that specifically COH runs better on which card ?
Thanks for help

As far as a processor goes, I would say get whatever is cheaper; I don't really have any loyalties, myself.
As far as a video card, CoH1 was built to utilize nVidia's architecture; but CoH2 is a bit more all-around. I personally like ATI as I had some issues with nVidia awhile back.

If you do decide to go with Nvidia, prepare yourself to deal with Optimus tech. I got my laptop 2 weeks ago, and for the first 2-3 days Optimus was a right pain in the ass.

That's great info regarding AMD/nV for CoH2.
While we are here, can you shed some light on CoH2 video memory requirements?
Nothing fancy - single screen configuration, FullHD resolution (or less).
Any point going with 2GB card over 1GB (supposing the above display configuration)?
There are some sweet deals for HD 7850 1GB, which I'm considering.

Everybody has their preferences, and the engines work betetr with X or Y, but most of the times, you should ensure you surpass the recommended settings, and you'll be fine.
It also depend son what the rig is for. If you will only play CoH2, then you are good to go! But take into account that RTS games are less system intensive than other types, such as FPS games. Certain times, for instance, you'll need to get GOOD processors for very niche games (Arma 2 needs a good processor, or it will bottleneck the GPU), but again: if you are an RTS gamer you are good

i just bought the new 27" imac with a 2gb nvidia gtx 680m graphics and 16gb dram. the machine runs amazing. i'm running bootcamp and windows 7. compared to my last machine i might be getting 10x the performance based on benchmarks i've seen comparing my old ati card to this new gpu.

1st why would anyone get a mac for gaming?
imac costs well over 2300 dollars (as specified)
built yourself is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay less.
even if you buy it built from someone like this
1800-2300, but the $2300 is far superior to your imac.
second, for the same price nvidia is just about always faster.
if your buying online i reccomend sager
though some of the highest end stuff is perpetually on back order

i've built many pc's before.....all ultimately end up shit. they don't look good. have u seen the new 27" imac. amazing and beautiful and it runs smooth as butter. also don't need separate monitor and massive tower which looks like crap, and requires lots of cooling. I like to keep things clean and I house the pc tower in an enclosed cabinet. This requires a separate external fan/cooling system so pc doesn't overheat. this isnt very efficient. at the end of the day, to each his own. i've built 5 custom pc's before and i just got sick of it. imac is best "pc" i've had so far.
