THQ sold the CoH servers on Craigslist for rent money and it takes Relic a little while to buy them back again and plug them in.
You shouldn't laugh, but I did. Well played Sir!

1. Get to the cmd prompt.
2. Type the following with no spaces: ipconfig/flushdns
3. You should get a message that says something like "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache"
Restart COH and you should be able to log as normal.
Note: When you change profiles, you may have to do the above procedure again.

and since the dns cache is volatile, a restart flushes it too. so if you restarted and the servers still appear to be down, they most likely are.

flushing the dns cache will do absolutely nothing unless they physically changed the servers IP(s) (which is unlikely).

Well, it worked for me last night. Twice. When I couldn't get in before.
Use it or don't use it. Makes no difference to me.

Use it or don't use it. Makes no difference to me. Although it makes a hell of a lot of difference to the goat, now that I think about it.

I heard that if you sacrifice a goat it totally works. Well, it worked for me last night. Twice. When I couldn't get in before.

Dude, I'm just trying to help the community.
I guess I've learned to keep my mouth shut here. Nice welcome to this new community BTW.

nononononononononono, not here too.... if servers are down, WAIT UNTIL THEY COME BACK UP AGAIN!
Well, what's the harm in having a thread like this? Seems like useful, relevant information to me.

If they're using a load balancer front end, then flushing the dns cache could work to get an available server IP instead of the one cached in your local dns records. So don't feel crazy for trying this.

look at GR and you know why it's a bad idea.

if they're using a load balancer, the server IPs are not saved in the DNS entry (hence, load balancer... it's the load balancer that balances load, not the dns server)

Let's not speak of GR. It's good at things, and it's bad at things. My point stands, it's helpful.
As for the load balancer question, if you have subdomain entries, you could have different results to dns queries at different times. Granted, I don't know what Relic's server infrastructure looks like, but flushing the local dns cache could point you to different IP, one that might be working.
