because its a prototype

Production started in mid-1943 and the Archer entered service in October 1944. It was used in North-West Europe and (in 1945) in Italy.[5] By the end of the war, 655 of them had been produced. The Archer was classified as a self-propelled anti-tank gun and like the British 3in SPG M10 and 17pdr SP Achilles, was operated during the war by the Royal Artillery (RA) rather than by Royal Armoured Corps units. The vehicles were never called "tank destroyers" as the British and Commonwealth armies never used the tank destroyer doctrine but as "self-propelled anti-tank guns".
Post-war, the Archer served with the Egyptian Army. The Archer served with some units of the Royal Armoured Corps in the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR) in the early 1950s.

Archer units in ww2:
- 20th Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery
- 18th Battery, 2nd Anti-Tank Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division
- ? Anti-Tank Regiment, 15th Scottish Division
- 314th Battery, 105th Anti-Tank Regiment, XIII Corps
A british battery had 12 guns in 1944. The anti tank regiment had at least 4 batteries. So there were at least 48+ (at least 4 active frontline batteries) Archers in western Europe and Italy.
Here is an Archer SPG in Kranenburg 1945, Germany:

2nd canadian and 15th scottish Division took part in the Battle of the Reichswald. So the Archer is from one of those units (I think it is an Archer of the Scottish Division because the Scottish Division marched through the town of Kranenburg that was flooded by the Rhine flood).

Picture of the victory "parade" of the 314th Battery, 105th AT Regiment in May 1945 in Italy.
You can see at least 6 of the 12 vehicles of the battery. Basing on Perrett there were 2 batteries with Archer TDs in Italy.

Combat Group Mühlenkamp 5th SS Panzer Division (5.SS-Panzer-Division "Wiking") in the Nuzhets-Stacja (Nurzec-Stacja). In the front of the Sd.Kfz.251 armored personnel carrier is SS Untersturmfuhrer Gerhard Mahn. Counterattacks were made in an attempt to contain the rapid advance of tank units of the Red Army during Operation Bagration. In the background, the tank "Panther" Pz.Kpfw. V Ausf. G. G. Man in the same armored vehicle is captured in the following photo.
