Edit:

Interesting! I thought it was just a way of conjugating "King"...why would they refer to the infantry as the "Queen of service branches"? Seems somewhat effeminate?

And before I go back to SS Kirk I need to pay some homage to Leonard Nimoy.

Ah, I see what you are getting at. Still seems odd to me in this particular context, must be a cultural thing. :)

Anyways it's good to straighten that out considering that is one of the posters hanging over my head every time I play CoH2.

Die Königin ("The Queen") in this slogan stands as a synonym for the femininity which is delicate and graceful. It stands for beauty and elegance. Using the female term is a form of idealisation.

The King (male) can be honourably, confident and strong but even exorbitant, irascible or unbridled whereas a queen is more self-determined, well-considered and beating time (?) in her actions.

Here is another example:

And the tribute. :D

anti tank dog

The dogs were considered a failure, mainly in large to being trained with soviet tanks which were diesel and the german tanks were petrol so the dogs would run towards the soviet tanks as trained.

The quality of these coloured pictures in this thread is astonishing and normally deserves an own thread! Thanks for sharing! :)
