i7 4770k
8GB 1866
2x GTX 770 4GB
1000w Corsair RM PSU
1920x1200

Performance is dropping to 22fps making gameplay very choppy and unresponsive. This problem has been around since release , when or if ever will we get some performance fixes Relic?

Here is a link of all mid-high end gpu's and the awful frame rates they are getting:

The SLI is probably causing an issue since it doesnt support it. Disable SLI and try again.

I get buttery smooth performance with my R9 290.

Just for reference of someone else who might be reading, I have to disable AI Catalyst on my ATI 4870x2 in order to launch Coh2.

This was the last of the generation of cards that no longer got support. ATI did release a patch driver, but its been working rather questionably.

Unfortunately, we have lost quite a lot of players from Coh2 due to lack of proper driver support, as well as the game just flat out not liking some older cards.

You should have seen the Technical Support board after launch...
I cry to think how many players where lost already then.

I have a GTX 660 and run the game on max with low frames just because my CPU sucks monkey balls and it from the stone age, this will change on Sunday though =) Finally got my 13th salary and can buy myself a present

I've only recently got my 2nd card and with SLI off the performance is exactly the same.

@Para I have a 4770k and have poor performance so upgrading your cpu will have minimal impact on CoH2 .

From your tables its a bit ridiculous that an r9 290x has to play with only medium AA and coming from a GTX 770 4GB owner I can assure you the minimum fps can drop as low as 22.. even in 2 vs 2 games...

At resolutions of 1080P and above you dont need a ton of AA unless you just want to throw away FPS.

I dont agree with that , there is a large difference with aa off and on

1080p is pretty average res nowdays nothing spectacular by any means.

I didnt say AA Off, i just said you dont need a ton of it. But the visual difference between AA 2X or 4X vs AA at 8X or 16X is very small while the FPS hit is pretty big.

I always thought that more AA than 4x was a waste of resources.

2x is enough for most of games, except if you are graphic whore.

That is correct.

Back in the day, gaming on 1280X1024 or 1024X768, AA was very important to make the game not look like a messed up bunch of jagged lines. 1080P seems small now but its still very high def for a 24" screen and AA is not needed beyond 2-4X tops.

high end cards should be capable of playing the game with good frame rates even with AA on ultra, coupled with a high end CPU which I have.

The games auto settings tell me to set everything to minimum..

On my setup I have AA on minimum with everything on high which I'm sure you'l all agree is still way below the standard of my spec.

This is why I created this thread the performance is horrible , throw in the horrendous 3 second response input lag and we have a game breaking problem here.

The game is not consistent with hardware because it is optimized very badly. For the graphics it has COH2 has some of the worst optimized performance I've ever seen.

Disable theater or playback whatever you call it, and gain another 20-30 fps. Your welcome.

How to do it

The game uses FXAA on low, which is the least expensive method of anti-aliasing out there.

The game uses FXAA and Supersampling x2 and x4 on medium and high respectively.
Putting it on medium would result in your 2MP 1920x1080 resolution becoming a 4.6MP 2880x1620 resolution, and a 8.2MP 3840x2160 resolution on high.

I don't know many games that are playable with a good(60?) FPS, on what is essentially a 4k resolution for the majority, with a single card.
