How to place VP in water

Hey, I wanted to know if anyone has tried it to place a VP in water. I use a spline for the river so the depth is pretty much even in it 3 meters to be exact. But I want to place a VP there and make the water shallow so infantry could actually cap while standing in the water. Question is I tried to use a spline again but it just look awful when I am trying to connect the 2 shores, also I am not sure about the depth that the infantry can actually cross. Any tips or examples will be helpful

i havent tested this much, but i think even 1m is too deep for infantry. i could be wrong though. onkelsam's spline tutorial has a lot of good tricks you might want to use for changing the height and width of specific parts of the river instead of the whole thing.
also, once youre happy with the shape of your river, you could always bake it, then just use the height map editor to make a portion of it shallow. theres quite a few ways you could do it. it kind of depends on what shape youre trying to make. youll have to play around and see which method works best for you.

It is possible to place it in water, but make sure that it isn't to deep.

if the water is deeper than -1.000 then its to deep, and make sure that the edge of the water is smooth and you can press "shift+F5" to regenerate all path-finding(this will also overlay the impass overlay and red is impassible terrain)

So the terrain should be around 0.1 under the water level If I am not mistaken? Also does the water give negative cover by default?
