We now have the tools to make coh 2 the game it should have been. Forget relic they hold the community in low regard and the same goes for the COH franchise. Lets create a better versoon of coh 2 starting with 1 standard commander for ost and sovet and lets nail the base game first. We should get Imperial Dane to come up with ideas for a commander and ad some historical and unique flavour to the standard armies without sacrificing fun and balance.
I would recommend a more maneuverable and elite army for the ost which lives on fuel and for the russians a slightly less maneuverable force which lives off itd veterancy for inf, and pretty potent late game armour.
the soviets units could still be cheap on man power but by mid and late game should be quite weak in comparison unless vetted. Since nearly all sov units are more durable they should not vet up by recieving damage and only by doing damave. Ost veterancy should come from both but be nerfed so unots dont vet as fast.
Ost should have mg based play like v coh while soviet should be more like us early game.
Arty and mortars should be changed to the mechanics of vcoh to actually reward activy use and player skill.. and at guns should be the main way to take on tanks apart from other tanks.. inf should not be the hard counter to tanks.
Between the communities ideas we could have an kncredible game ov seen so many great posts by people on here.
Thoughts?

Some ideas for assymetrical balance.. I feel in the current game owning territory isnt a bit deal so to combat that I think sov should get a slight increase in vet modifier for having dominant map control and ost should get more fuel. I also think that pop cap needs to return but maybe not as harshly as coh did but it still needs an effect. The mp war could be different by having the standard high mp cost for ost and having losses of vet troops bleed sov mp much more harshly than non vet - this would be like sovs having unlimited resources in ww2 but of very low quality when suffering heavy losses.

No not really as the base game and engine of coh2 is so different from vcoh.. but something like it

Another thing could be that there is a more distinct early mid and late game this could be done by giving fuel tech choices which would delay med and heavy vehicle play for a while.. the pros could come up with some options for both armies. The strategy sife of coh2 is so flat it has nothing on coh atm.
stuff like barb wire, sandbags, trenches, bunkers and mines should be available to both sides as both ost and soviets had some incredible defensive based battles during the war.
