Hi to everyone!

What do you guys think are the best current anti spam methods with USF vs OST and OKW?

In the early game you have the 50cal or the m15 later... but the 50cal is easily countered (low suppression and small arc of fire) and the m15AA is "very light" and easy to lose it, especially in mid to late game, in addition to not being able to face almost any other vehicle (except 222, and Flak HT).

Later, you have the sherman with explosive shells, but maybe you are going to face a PzIV.

What do you guys usually use? Spam vs spam? mines? Calliope? 105mm Sherman?

Regards and kisses in the front!

Calliope and 30 muni mines are your best bet as USF against blobs. Scotts can work, but you need at least two, and a lot of time to whittle down the blob.

Hello

So I just need to point out your mistake, the M15 is not "very light" it is a hard counter to light vehicles up to the "luchs" if you have a good arc on them, the gun is powerful enough to 1v1 a luchs and the rear armor too, it can body a 222 easily and is a great substitute to the mg though I wouldn’t take my chases with the flak most times. Also the 50cal is better suited inside buildings, as you point out the arc is very small, but if you must you should train your micro with it, using it actively to harass the infantry, use 2 if necesary, the DSK has a smaller arc and it also can be used effectively against blobs with some consistency, admittedly you should seek for any support weapons you could steal, no use in loosing MP against a blob you can’t fight against with infantry or wasting MP in too much ISGs.

USF always will have problems with most starts, your missions is always to overcome everything that your enemy can throw at you, so, think smart, if blobs are too hard to beat think about what can counter them, 2xBAR riflemen are extremely good at close, mid and long engagements, build as much cover as you can and use it correctly, make sure you get all your squad in green cover so you don’t lose too much MP, if you can’t win engagements, if you aren’t in 3v3s and 4v4s ty to spread your forces so they can’t drain your MP and you can get the most terrain, hit and run. Say they have many more squads, MGs, ATGs, just retreat and think again, use pack howitzers, mortars and mortar halftrack to harass the MGs, white phosphorus spam will drain the health of most bullshit you can encounter in the field, and don’t let the enemy form your strategy, its true you need to counter but everything can turn on you if you only made a build to counter infantry and you suddenly need to counter a vehicle, artillery or heavy tank. Always think ahead, if they spam infantry they are probably trying to save up fuel for the heavies or for a medium spam.

Next point is MINES, the doctrines that let you lay mines with inf are not too rare and if you have a nice bank of munis it will prove really useful. Any well-timed explosive will fck up a blob, so try mind games with grenades, throw them in their retreat path or just in front of your men so they may just go head first into them, the later is the most probable obviously, spend the munitions wisely.

Use your commanders wisely too, not all have good blob control tools but most do, 30cals in rear echelons make them very capable, just don’t use them if you are doing very mobile assaults as they can only shoot whilst still, use cover, the bulldozer blade from urban for extra protection and making cover, also the WP rounds are powerful too, the 105 bulldozer is the same deal but I’d rather use a normal Sherman with HE, never the less it has great AOE if you use attack ground and has a very good artillery ability. The priest is very good if you can keep the out of the fight and can help with support weapons, infantry and tanks. M20 Pershing is perfect for the job but need a lot of care and the doctrinal abilities are not that great. Avoid using elite troops like rangers, paratroopers etc. if not necessary, you’ll need them if you have a good game but otherwise are a big waste of MP and munis. Caliope is pretty good but need the same care as the priest, and is not as useful, do not actively use it as your only source of blob control as it can be targeted by a lot of things. Units like the E8s and Sherman 76 are really bad but can give you great support if they are pursuing vehicles, just don’t trade them, same for AT guns get them and don’t lose them.

Finally just know that you can’t win every battle, if you can’t ask for help, don’t have the resources or simply you just fucked up the build don’t give up, try anyway and see what you can do, if you fail get angry, fuck up shit, and then understand your mistakes, blobs are stupid and nothing more, you’ll get to understand it once you develop your new anti-blob techniques, Godspeed and keep playin USF my dude, get that micro going, know your enemy and yourself and eventually you will acquire great victories.

Mines and emplacements are the hard counters.

You could also try .50 Cal with Mortars.

Generally, you cannot "counter" blobs since Axis are the best blobbers. You can only stall them till you get a real weapon out (like Dozer Sherman or Calliope) and then start snowballing.
