China Insider Info (see vids/links below)

serpentza & laowhy86 lived in China for over 10 years doing many Youtube videos on Chinese culture etc.
Both have a Chinese wife and now live in US. They are not anti-Chinese, but anti-CCP.
serpentza’s wife is a former Chinese doctor and they have insider info from doctors within China.

Coronavirus - Inside info and discussion:

China's Coronavirus is Much Worse Than You Think:

BREAKING: Insider warned ”Beijing and Shanghai will be next” after Wuhan’s lockdown:
https://gnews.org/88820/ (news site owned by Guo Wengui| Exiled Chinese Billionaire, anti-CCP)
An anonymous insider within the CCP regime has sent Gnews the latest update on the coronavirus epidemics on the evening of the 24th:

1. The Armed Police are being deployed and are ready to enforce the martial law in Beijing at anytime.

2. Within the week, the epidemics in Shanghai will be out of control. Shanghai Jinshan District Public Health Center will be the concentrated place for pneumonia patients from Wuhan.

3. All hospitals in Wuhan are fully occupied and can no longer accept new patients. Thousands of patients have to be rejected every day.

4.The respiratory medicine staff of Wuhan Union Medical College Hospital were all infected, and the orthopedic surgeons have to fill in these positions.

5. Wuhan should have been locked down on the 12th, but the Hubei Provincial Government decided to postpone. By the 18th, the epidemic was out of control. When the city was closed on the 22nd, 1.5 million people have traveled out of Wuhan to all parts of the country. In addition, 1 million college students have left Wuhan to return home for the Chinese New Year from 9th to 15th.

6. Based on the 14-day longest incubation period for the Wuhan coronavirus, the above 2.5 million people can trigger the outbreaks across the country before February 5th, .

Disclaimers: the anonymous source provider is solely responsible for the authenticity of this news, Gnews makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness or accuracy of opinions/information for this news.

For China, this Coronavirus could be pretty bad for various reasons as seen in the vids.
Remember washing hands with soap is more important than any N95 mask (equivalent to European FFP2 or 3).
N95 mask will not help much when Chinese people do not have good hygiene practices..

Stay safe.
Be warned, big pharma might exploit this Coronavirus to make a quick buck from unsafe vaccines.
People with decent immune system will survive this..

Here is a great informative video from a Wuhan citizen. Many thx to Chinese citizens who are taking risks to warn the general public:

Wuhan citizen plainly tells the #coronavirus situation in Wuhan & seeks help from the world

Good intel to suggest CCP is lying about numbers of infected people. The incubation period is up to 2 weeks without any symptoms.
For China this coronavirus is spreading rapidly partly due to the lack of transparency, spring festival and bad hygiene habits/not washing hands with soap etc..
The mortality rate is about 3-5% (based on current info/intel). That could potentially be millions of Chinese dead, mostly the elderly and children with vulnerable immune systems.

When/if this virus spreads to your country please share below info on how to stay safe and help stop spreading this disease.
The best cure is precautions and good hygiene practices.
This is not fear-mongering it's just commonsense and staying vigilant. Life will go on and I have 100% confidence that humanity will get through these troubled times.

The Wuhan Virus: How to Stay Safe
As China’s epidemic continues to spread, things may seem scary. Here are ten simple precautions that can protect you from contracting the coronavirus.
*SNIP*

1. When you leave your home, wear gloves—winter mittens or outdoor gloves—and keep them on in subways, buses, and public spaces.

2. If you are in a social situation where you should remove your gloves, perhaps to shake hands or dine, do not touch your face or eyes, no matter how much something itches. Keep your hands away from contact with your face. And before you put your gloves back on, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, scrubbing the fingers. Put your gloves on.

3. Change gloves daily, washing them thoroughly, and avoid wearing damp gloves.

4. Masks are useless when worn outdoors and may not be very helpful even indoors. Most masks deteriorate after one or two wearings. Using the same mask day after day is worse than useless—it’s disgusting, as the contents of your mouth and nose eventually coat the inside of the mask with a smelly veneer that is attractive to bacteria. I rarely wear a face mask in an epidemic, and I have been in more than 30 outbreaks. Instead, I stay away from crowds, and I keep my distance from individual people—a half meter, about 1.5 feet, is a good standard. If someone is coughing or sneezing, I ask them to put on a mask—to protect me from their potentially contaminated fluids. If they decline, I step a meter (about 3 feet) away from them, or I leave. Don’t shake hands or hug people—politely beg off, saying it’s better for both of you not to come in close contact during an epidemic.

5. Inside your household, remove all of the towels from your bathrooms and kitchen immediately, and replace them with clean towels that have the names of each family member on them. Instruct everybody in your home to only use their own towels and never touch another family member’s. Wash all towels twice a week. Damp towels provide terrific homes for viruses, like common colds, flus, and, yes, coronaviruses.

6. Be careful with doorknobs. If it’s possible to open and close doors using your elbows or shoulders, do so. Wear gloves to turn a doorknob—or wash your hands after touching it. If anybody in your home takes sick, wash your doorknobs regularly. Similarly, be cautious with stairway banisters, desktops, cell phones, toys, laptops—any objects that are hand-held. As long as you handle only your own personal objects, you will be ok—but if you need to pick up someone else’s cell phone or cooking tools or use someone else’s computer keyboard, be mindful of not touching your face and wash your hands immediately after touching the object.

7. If you share meals, do not use your personal chopsticks and utensils to remove food from a serving bowl or plate and, of course, tell your children to never drink out of anybody else’s cups or from a container of shared fluid. It is customary in China to prepare several dishes for a meal and then allow everybody at the table to use their personal chopsticks to pull food from the common dishes: Don’t do this until the epidemic is over. Place serving spoons in each dish and instruct everybody at the table to scoop what they want from the serving dishes onto their personal plates or bowls, return the serving spoon to the main dish, and then use their personal chopsticks only to pick food from their personal plate or bowl into their mouth. Wash all food and kitchenware thoroughly between meals and avoid restaurants that have poor hygiene practices.

8. Absolutely do not buy, slaughter, or consume any live animal or fish until it is known what species was the source of the virus.

9. When the weather allows, open your windows at home or work, letting your space air out. The virus cannot linger in a well-ventilated space. But of course, if it is cold or the weather is inclement, keep warm and close those windows.

10. Finally, if you are caring for a friend or family member who is running a fever, always wear a tight-fitting mask when you are near them, and place one on the ailing person (unless they are nauseated). When you replace an old, dirty mask from the face of your friend or loved one be very, very careful—assume, for the sake of your protection, that it is covered in viruses, and handle it while wearing latex gloves, place it inside of a disposable container, seal it, and then put it in the trash. While wearing those latex gloves, gently wash the patient’s face with warm soap and water, using a disposable paper towel or cotton swab, and seal it after use in a container or plastic bag before placing it in your household trash. Wear long-sleeved shirts and clothing that covers your body when you are caring for your ailing friend or relative. Clean everything your patient wears or touches very thoroughly in hot soapy water, including sheets, towels, and utensils. If you have space, isolate the sick person in your household in a room, or a corner of a room, where they are comfortable, but separated from the rest of the household. If the weather is tolerable, open a window that is on the opposite side of the room, so that air gently blows past the patient’s face and then outdoors. Of course, don’t do this if it is very cold, as your friend or loved one will be made sicker if uncomfortably cold.

The Chinese government will take very drastic actions over the next few weeks, and this will be a time of hardship for the Chinese people. As the virus spreads in other countries, similarly draconian measures may be invoked to slow the epidemic. But with these simple precautions, if taken by everybody in your household, building, office, and school, you will dramatically reduce the spread of the virus and bring the outbreak to its knees.

Be safe. Do not panic. Take commonsense precautions. As frightening as this time is, you will get through it.

China Demands Apology From Danish Newspaper Over Virus Cartoon:
https://www.thelocal.dk/20200128/china-demands-apology-over-danish-newspapers-cartoon-flag-insult

China has objected to a satirical drawing of the Chinese flag published by a Danish newspaper on Monday.
The Asian superpower has demanded a public apology over the publication of the satirical depiction of its flag by newspaper Jyllands-Posten, the country’s embassy to Denmark wrote in a press statement.

In the statement, the embassy writes that the drawing is “an insult to China” and that it “hurts the feelings of the Chinese people”.

“The current outbreak of a new coronavirus has cost 81 precious lives in China. At the same time as the Chinese government and the Chinese people are making every effort to combat this unusual and urgent health threat, Jyllands-Posten has published a ‘satirical drawing’ by Niels Bo Bojesen which is an insult to China and hurts the feelings of the Chinese people,” the embassy wrote according to a translation by Politiken.

“Lacking any form of sympathy or empathy, (the cartoon) has transcended the lower boundaries of civilized society and the ethical boundary of freedom of expression, and insults human conscience,” the statement continues.

“We express our strong indignation and demand that Jyllands-Posten and Niels Bo Bojesen repent their mistake and publicly apologize to the Chinese people,” it concludes.

Bojesen’s drawing depicts each of the five yellow stars of the Chinese flag as a coronavirus.

The newspaper’s managing editor said the cartoon was not intended as an insult.

“The drawing did not intend to mock or ridicule China,” Jyllands-Posten managing editor Jacob Nybroe told broadcaster TV2.

“Drawing a flag and illustrating the coronavirus very quickly illustrates that they [China, ed.] are battling a virus. That’s it,” he added.

Coronavirus has so far killed over 100 people in China, with the death toll now at 106, Chinese authorities said on Tuesday.

The total number of confirmed infections across China is over 4,000.

Cases of the virus have also been confirmed in other countries, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Nepal, Vietnam, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the United States, France and Australia.

The first case of coronavirus has also been confirmed in Germany.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Denmark, CCCD, also expressed criticism of the cartoon.

“We respect the freedom of speech and, in particular, the personal freedom to express one's attitude, interpretation and attitude,” CCCD general secretary John Liu said in a press statement.

“However, we find that cartoonist Niels Bo Bojesen lacks manners and personal qualities such as compassion and sympathy. The drawing of the coronavirus on the Chinese flag expresses only mockery, ridicule and derision of the Chinese people who right now need the care and support of the outside world,” Liu said.

Jyllands-Posten, a centre-right daily, is the newspaper which published the infamous Muhammad cartoons in 2005, with broad-reaching consequences including a foiled terror plot against the publication, Danish flags being burned in a number of Muslim countries and an impact on the country’s exports.

Millions dead? Come on nobody here is dumb enough to believe that.

As for the flag, how would you think people would react if someone covered a African national flag with AIDS virus "not as a joke, just showing they have aids"? Very poor taste when people are dying.

And yes it's sad news, tragic. So I wish people would turn to donations and supporting the sick and volunteers rather than political squabbling.

That was not what I said (death toll climbs equal to number of infections), it's insulting to put words in my mouth.
The current mortality rate is at least 3%. I never said this was the new Spanish flu, I'm more concerned about the aftermath and destroying human rights.
If 1 billion people become infected then do the math. Within each country, health professionals can only contain this virus to a certain point.
The fact is this virus could have been contained easily weeks ago before the spring festival.
What the hell happened here?
Many countries should demand answers from CCP or the very least demand more transparency rather than CCTV/state propaganda.
If diplomacy with CCP fails, military actions will follow. This is very serious..

Please elaborate. So which media within China should we trust?

At CCTV, Xi was welcomed by a placard pledging loyalty. “The central television’s family name is the party,” the sign read, anticipating remarks made by Xi at a later meeting.

“The media run by the party and the government are the propaganda fronts and must have the party as their family name,” Xi told propaganda workers at the meeting, during which he demanded absolute loyalty from state media.

“All the work by the party’s media must reflect the party’s will, safeguard the party’s authority, and safeguard the party’s unity,” he said. “They must love the party, protect the party, and closely align themselves with the party leadership in thought, politics and action.”

Meanwhile 650.000 people die of Influenza every year and no one cares.

https://www.globalresearch.ca/flu-bigger-concern-wuhan-virus-grabs-headlines/5701932

All this stupid fear-mongering, sensationalist reporting nowadays is really annoying. I wish people would just stop with it. Especially because most of it is just based on attention-seeking exaggerations or just completely made up. This thread is the perfect example of it.

It's also pretty weird that this virus is used as a political propaganda tool against the Chinese government when in reality even the WHO, Trump, the pope and several western newspapers praised their efforts to stop the spread of it. Some people really need to get a grip on reality.

FYI.

Below are some early science data on new Coronavirus (maybe RO3 or higher) and why countries go into lockdown to preventing the spread. RO science data show early containment is very important.
This is China's biological 'Chernobyl' (Wuhan) as the virus is way more contagious than seasonal flu (which is R0 1.28). That’s why being proactive is the best cure.
Just to emphasize, this is not a new Spanish flu but can temporary cripple our global infrastructure.
What happens when local supermarkets no longer have food and water? Medical supplies?
Something as simple as toilet paper may no longer be available for weeks.
We should all hope health professionals can contain this virus.
If not, it’s time to stockpile what you need for 2-4 weeks.

I respect your opinion.
IMO, the Danes should apologize as soon as CCP apologize for covering up the Wuhan coronavirus.

Danes have jumped to the defence of Jyllands-Posten on Twitter, while Chinese people have shared social-media memes recalling Denmark's surrender to Nazi Germany in World War Two. That surrender took place within four hours, the tweets say.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-51295225

Denmark refuses to apologise to China over coronavirus cartoon:
https://www.reddit.com/r/China/comments/evbnhf/denmark_refuses_to_apologise_to_china_over/
I agree with mkvgtired reddit comments below.
mkvgtired
I think the virus is hurting the Chinese people more.
And the CCP facilitated the spread by initially covering it up. They were totally fine with the deaths of additional Chinese people to save face. It's hard to take their feigned anger over Chinese people's "feelings" when they were proactively ensuring countless more contract a miserable and painful disease, some of them dying from it.

KoKansei
They were totally fine with the deaths of additional Chinese people to save face

This right here is the real crux of the issue, but even this idea will itself be squelched from Weibo as fast as the government censors can manage. They think they are above anything, including and up to, reality.

CCP/China's 50 Cent Brigade also wasted their time trying to manipulate our online polls;
Chinese users stormed vote on JP drawing (google translate):
https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/indland/kinesiske-brugere-stormede-afstemning-om-jp-tegning
*snip*
For the 152,000 users who have seen the poll, only 12 percent are from Denmark, while a full 51 percent are from China, according to the poll data.
It turns out that the poll has been shared on Chinese social media along with calls to vote in the poll.
Online polls and political controversy are just a bad combination.
This is according to Yevgeniy Golovchenko, a PhD fellow at the University of Copenhagen, where he researches disinformation and influence campaigns on social media.
"It doesn't tell us anything about attitudes, and it's super easy to manipulate them," he says.

China's 50 Cent Brigade, sometimes called the 50 Cent Party, are essential professional trolls. It's their job to trawl through websites, both inside and outside of China, and monitor what the public is saying about the regime and draw the conversation away from anything critical of China by instead criticizing the United States, Western involvement in international affairs, or by pointing out the flaws of democracy. China Uncensored gets plenty of these guys. Ironic since Youtube, along with Facebook and Twitter are actually banned in China. So it's not just Sina Webio these guys are on. And since China employs 2 million of Internet monitors, more than the 1.5 million the People's Liberation Army, this is clearly a new form of cyber warfare. The weapons are hacking or virus, but a careful and systematic propaganda push. And Snoopybabe.

I want to kindly ask you guys to stop discussing this topic on this website. There are plenty of websites out there for you to share your anti-CCP views. But keep in mind doing such things during such a period is hugely not recommended, and is nothing different from spreading fake news. It is also very disrespectful to all medical and government personals who are risking their health condition working in the frontline of Wuhan. My dad, as a cardiologist, who had worked in the SARS front line 15 years ago and may be again going to the Wuhan frontline to help. He can access more information than most of the average citizens do. Basically, this virus is, indeed, much worse than you can imagine and currently untreatable at all. However, the mortality rate is also much lower compared to SARS.
Also, as for government factors, just go and compare the 2009 H1N1 case, you will see how each government did and their general performance on the emergency epidemic control in their countries.

I have seen his videos, kowtowing to CCP. This is another echo chamber (whatever intentional or not). China has both a light and dark side, I'm not anti-Chinese. CCP control and/or influence Chinese media effectively.
China has two constitutions, one for CCP and one for the country.
CCP enforces 'online rumors' law where they can put any Chinese/non-CCP into three years in jail. They abuse this law to silence Chinese criticism and intimidate.

New Chinese Law Cracks Down On 'Rumor Mongers', 2013:
https://www.npr.org/sections/parallels/2013/09/25/226181016/new-chinese-law-no-rumormongering

https://qz.com/1793764/china-court-says-wuhan-coronavirus-rumors-might-have-helped/

Such blatant hypocrisy. State media can do fake news/propaganda/rumors all day long but when Chinese citizens post "rumors" they can get 3 years in prisons.

This is gonna be my last reply.
That was not my idea. I am Chinese, and I shared your idea with my dad and some of the other medical personals I know. And they just found it pure on radiculous and not happy about your claim at all. Also, the Chinese government had already accepted multiple foreign assistants. For example, the US and Chinese experts are now working together for a vaccine, 3 million masks were sent to Wuhan by a Japanese company, etc. Just keep in mind all of these were reported by the Chinese government or CCP official media--CCTV, and they have shown a huge appreciation of global collaborations.
Also, the refusion of foreign assistance is not a rare thing and does not happen only in China. Japan's government also declined foreign support during the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
