The role of bounces and armour

It is often said that RNG is one of the key contributors to making coh2 an exciting game, and I’d have to agree.
Having your tank bounce the first shot during an attack forces you to adapt to the situation, or having the killing blow bounce makes you choose between risking your tank or escaping.
I think the problem comes in when armour is used to mitigate damage like with panthers or heavy tanks.
I think the higher bounce rates on heavies can be good, as it should be riskier to attack a superior tank, but a 40 - 50% bounce rates removes the tactical decision making from having a shot bounce.
I would prefer that, if tanks need better foreward protection, but still be vulnerable to flanks, it would receive increased damage from rear hits instead, so that bounces don’t become expected in late game combat
