I think this replay shows very well how stupidly effective soviet anti-tank rifles are against infantry (your vet3 guard had as many infantry kills as your vet3 conscript which was around longer). Why an anti-tank squad needs to be so effective against infantry is beyond me.
PTRS buff vs infantry was necessary and logical, but MVRelic simply overbuffed this and in the past other stuff. PTRS accuracy should be halved

How is it logical to upgrade the infantry killing ability of an anti-tank rifle?
because anti tank rifle (PTRS) was made later as sniper rifle after war due to great mechanic of this weapon and high tanks/vehicles armor made them obsolete vs these so only possible to make them efficient was to make them as sniper rifles.

Because anti-tank rifles are still rifles. A big, clumsy rifle that is still accurate enough to hit infantry and do terrible, terrible damage.

Who cares about the historical accuracies when in a game balance sense it is completely illogical? By the same logic panzerfausts should be able to be shot at infantry and wipe out entire squads from the blastwhy so guards can go back to being useless and getting raped by lmg grens? No

You nailed it >>>after war<<< in WW1 & WW2 they were used as anti tank weapons, hence the name Simonov Anti Tank Rifle /// Противо Танковое Ружьё Симонова. Definately it was not used to snipe team weapons.

why so guards can go back to being useless and getting raped by lmg grens? NoI don't think you understand the point. If you are going to invest in a doctrine to get an anti-tank infantry squad to supplement your strategy, it should mean that you need to compensate for anti-infantry elsewhere. You should have to get guards for vehicles and snipers or conscript upgrades or vehicles for anti-infantry. The fact that guards do everything now makes the game even more bland and boring since all you have to do is spam 2 units (Cons and Guards) to deal with EVERY UNIT that Ostheer and OKW can field until you field IS2 or T34/85s to defeat any late game tanks. It's stupid.

Way to go and cherry pick the points he made to suit your own argument and ignore the fact he said that Guards will let you last in the game UNTIL IS2 and T34/85 call ins to deal with late game threats, since you know late game tank call ins are pretty much the only thing this stale meta offers.

I didn't know the is2 and guards were in the same doc ether, you learn something new everyday. This isn't even an issue with guards but in efficient teching and units that make call-ins a effective choice

Sadly, you're incapable of learning, and how is there any tech if I can finish a game with conscripts, guards and a late game call in? Next thing you'll claim building up CP's to get the call in is teching rofl
