Not everyone could pull this off. I suspect there is a counter to it. If he knew you'd do it, I suspect early luchs to kill the snipers. His came to late. WP though 4 sure.

Yea...I forgot that the Guards tear up the Luchs. Normally the Guards are pretty bad but against OKW they seem ok. As long as you don't lose those snipers.

The Balance is such that soviets have to TRY to lose, or just not really pay attention. Soviet T1, all of it, hard counters OKW. You need rocket + shreck volk to counter M3, and the shreck doesn't come soon enough. Relic needs to give serious thought to giving volks a faust type ability, seeing as ALL other basic infantry of every other faction have it, and vet 1 for rifleman isn't hard to get. That, or make the shreck less potent but cheaper.

Until you get a fast puma out at 6.5-7 mins, Soviets will completely dominate OKW, and by time 6-7 mins rolls around, you need to hope you don't run into guards/mines/At nades or a T2 AT gun.

In fact, my favorite strat is T1 penal sniper then T2 At gun + guard and mines. With this build, you completely dominate OKW until way into mid game. IF OKW can somehow manage to survive till then they have chance, but it's not likely. the OKW vs USF is more balanced, and maybe even favoring the OKW a bit, but Sov VS OKW is in a HORRIBLE state of balance atm.

Making the Flacktrack decent (eliminate teardown, retain set up) and 5 fuel cheaper would also make this the defacto T1 soviet counter. It's just sad that with it's current set up AND tear down time, I have managed to kill flacktracks with Penal Satchel charges and there was NOTHING opponent could do. Retainging set up time allows opponent to get away before being blasted to bits, and eliminating teardown allows flacktrack to not die so easily, which is it's main problem atm

Well, OKW (thanks for this epic faction Relic) is totally unplayable in 1v1's, USA has way better inf in early and dominates them, soviets must use some hard units like snipers or shocks and it's auto gg, conscripts are mostly useless against OKW unless they get ppsh upgrade and they have 5 of them.

This game vs Sib (like many others i played with this strat) shows that T1 is everything you need, M3 counter Kubelwagen in early which is a pain in the ass, non shrecked volks can't damage M3 that much, only sturmpios are threat to M3 but then snipers hit the field and guards will counter every vehicle that OKW can get fast.\

IMO the only chance for OKW is to get fallschirmjaegers from some building where snipers are near and hope to get them killed

As for the Flak HT suggestion - in my opinion it gets relatively easily countered by Guards as long as they are in cover (or especially in buildings) or use Button ability (ideally followed by Cons with AT nade but sometimes it`s not even necessary).

It`s hard to advise anything really, normally against sniper heavy strats I would say you need to spread and flank early, since you should have infantry advantage because your opponent dumped his manpower into snipers. But the beauty of Barton`s strat is in the addition of M3 which prevents this. OKW infatry would get simply chased and killed off by it because they can`t fight back till they get 90 muni for a shrek...

EDIT: I should refresh sometimes, I see Barton already posted his thoughts ^
