SMines are more the problem than pios. M3s are the natural counter to this strat, but S-mines counter those. I like the assault pios. The problem with pios charging cons in cover and winning is the result of the bad conscript DPS at range.
IMHO the M3 should take less damage from S-mines, I think it would be balanced if driving an M3 through the entire field left it at half-health, so every patch you hit takes off an 1/8th or so.

With the m3 armor nerf and the pioneer damage boost, they're actually the most efficient german infantry unit against m3s for cost now. As long as you're blobbing with pios (and everyone who is spamming them generally is), m3s can do nothing to them even ignoring smines.

Or just raise the cost of 'S' mines? This strat can probably be easily countered with the correct doctrine + units. viz Penals; Shocks and T35.(IMO)
Heads up to Ivan for showing the game and props to Majorownage for making it work on this occasion. I highly doubt it will continue.

I've played vs pio spammer 8.0 majorownage on this map today.
3 cons with 3 maxims, 2 atgs, mines and wire allowed me to stop his pio blob and P4. Later my Kv-8 and Is-2 cleaned the mess and won defeated his strat.
About the S-mines, they weren't a problem as I gave minesweepers to my engi squad.

Mind blown.

Question. What's stopping Germans from going pio spam this patch? Did anything change this patch to nerf piospam? I''m only asking since I've never tried piospam before. All I see working against piospam is some good conscript micro with minesweeper engies or quick maxims :/ Maybe hold out for shocks and call in armour late game.

They did? O.o Pios still seem to outfight conscripts at close range though...
