What's Needed of You:
- Familiarity with an image editing program. Think Gimp 2, Photoshop or even Paint (Some people do amazing things in Microsoft Paint.).
- Example(s) of your work. If you have none, I may give you a task to test you. That may include a marathon around the countryside.
- Humour, lots of it!
- A Private Message application sent to the Lead Artist. Won't know of you otherwise.
"That is all? I don't need an university education?!" That is right. "God bless you!" Thanks. You see, the university folks tend to be busy individuals and sometimes we, the rest of the staff, wonder if they have died. Not great, but their art is great, so we cannot complain. Too much. "Uuhh... Okay."
The cheating way to do Highlights and Social Art in a hurry. The two blue lines are guides.
The Work
They come in three categories:
- Highlights:
- 850 x 250 px
- Social Art:
- 600 x 600 px
- Group Activities:
- All the Dimensions Imaginable
Social Art is for Twitter and Facebook. The size 600x600, if I remember right, was ideal for resizing on those platforms.
Group Activities is everything else, with a sexual swing to it. Activities. Yes, this is the level of my humour. Sad, I know. Over to a serious note.
Examples of this sort of work:
- Images for capture orders.
- Drawings for guides or articles. The Armor Company guide is an excellent example.
- The occasional signature image or avatar.
- Custom unit or ability tooltips.
The Benefits
You can put it on your CV: "I am on the volunteer staff for CoH2.org. Everybody has heard of it!" Cricket sounds. You also meet new people. In the same way a trip to the nearest social gathering spot would do. But goodness, leaving the chair? And... going OUTSIDE?!
And that is enough jokes for today. Did it catch your interest? If so, I am waiting. For you.
