Now I feel very good that I bought it on Steam for 50€. At least I got hats for TF2... :P

Thanks for the tip, though, those sales right now are stunning. I mean it's 50% off of nearly everything, even brand new stuff!

I'm still on the fence about whether I should order it or not. I don't want to have to run Origin & Steam to run COH2. Some people think you can get the key from Origin and just plug it in Steam and you're good-to-go, others think you will need to launch through Origin. I wish I could get a straight answer :(

As far as I know steam is required, especially for THQ update policy.
Anyway shouldn't be a big deal to enter the "origin" key into steam.

Well... Not fair at all for those players who paid 50 euroBucks for it (like me). 50% off for a new game is too much.

By the way, did anyone know (or expect) when will be available the Beta ? we are facing the last month of 2012 and there's no official news about it.

Yeah that's the hope. The specific question is, "Will I have to run Origin to run COH2?" Because if the answer is yes, imo it's not worth the 25 EURO saved :P

If I recall correctly, the answer is yes. Why would they let you buy it on Origin. And tbh that's to reason of such a big discount: because no1 would buy it on Origin if it was full price.

Just confirming what others have said. Origin or not, the game will still launch Steam.

it is obvious that you will have to run steam anyway. But the question is, can you transfer the digital serial to Steam, just like you could register any hardcover version serial in steam, if steam supports that particular game

Exactly. In other words, if buying it on Origin forces me to run Origin (on top of steam ffs) then I'm not buying it on Origin. Simple as.

a serial is a serial, how would Steam distinguish between hardcover serials and digital serials. they follow the same pattern

makes no sense to run coh2 through origin in steam lol.
u don't need origin, just to buy :p

but tbh origin / ea ($_$) policies don't suprise me anymore.

so u can take the productcode from origin, enter it in steam and thats it.
