"!!This is the same Recap as the one on Relic's Blog. A heads up to those who has already read it. COH2.ORG"
Nope this one has better punctuation, artwork, and formatting
There is some news on region and how it will affect who can enter what EU/NA, but that is going to be 100% clarified today I believe.
edit: new regional restrictions: http://play.eslgaming.com/companyofheroes2/europe/coh2-tbf/major/go4coh2-europe/cup-6/rules/
Basically NA and EU are only allowed in their own cups now, and there's specific rules as to which one they belong to for the rest of the world.

Is it out of place to wonder why they increase the prize pool after the same people keep winning, and you can kind of allude to who's going to win *cough* Luvnest *cough*. I'd like to get some ESL action without having to verse the best of the best, no money needs to be involved. Just my opinion.

It's a competitive event, the players are competitors, it's meant to be a spectacle in the same vein as a sporting spectacle. It's all about the best of the best, people trying their hardest to beat them.
Please try and apply your logic in the proper context.
There may end up being more casual ESL tournaments that aren't for money and encourage more casual players, in fact I'm 95% sure there will be. But that'd be a separate ball game and a different context.
edit: also I was waiting for the spark that starts off the comment chain, for that line of arguing please refer to the massive thread night posted, where the vast majority of people had the 'competitive' line of reasoning I share. Can someone link it please? To stop the same debate happening again.

My logic is being applied, and that's towards the implementation of a semi competitive ESL or tournament event.
And here's my logic, you have ESL, representing as you state "It's all about the best of the best", which I understand. But then you have all these other independently run tournaments, almost all of them designated towards lower level or team based players.
That leaves the untouched demographic, mid level players, such as myself, whom can't quite stand up to the likes of Hans and Devm, but can compete with those alike. If your so sure, then I'm happy to wait for an announcement or confirmation, but until then I'm going to sit in my chair kinda spiteful.

Most RTS players love to compete in a safe bubble. Rather throw themselfs into world and play with high skill players to get good. Maybe thats why general COH2 players skill level is kinda low. This ESL thing is amasing and allows any player to get a playing chanse with higher skill players. Without these kind of tournaments, It would be impossible to increase overall skill level and ultimately better balance within the game.
I encourage all the low-mid-high players to participate ESL after all, the excitement is good fun innit?
