Community Poll: COH1 Map Conversion

Hello Ladies and Gents, welcome to the first Community-led Map Making effort for Company of Heroes 2, over here at COH2.ORG.

As Company of Heroes 2 has developed and changed with the months, we are occasionally graced with a conversion of an old favourite map from Company of Heroes, along the likes of Semois, Angoville and Langres. However we are well aware that of the masses of maps from the original game, we are unlikely to see many updated and given the new lease of life that they deserve!

That's where you come in: using this very elegant link, you can vote for your favourite maps from the original game and we, the staff over at COH2.ORG, will begin the conversion process.

Our Process

Converting a map can be as easy as taking the files from one place, copying them somewhere else and making 10 minutes of changes. However, that defeats the object! Why not have a high-quality conversion that gives you the same enjoyment as the original maps, makes you feel nostalgic while meeting the visual and graphical standards of COH2?

Once we have our winning maps from the polls, Sarantini and his team of Strategists will begin planning suitable changes to each map, including rewriting their territory layouts (which don't seem to survive the conversion process very well) and using their expertise to make any advances necessary to improve their playability with COH2's mechanics.

While this process is underway, MonolithicBacon and his selection of Community Map Makers will open the files in WorldBuilder and get to work making the changes.

As work is underway, screenshots and teasers will be posted to give you an insight.

This process will be a slow one and likely to take months but we hope it will be worth the wait!


Please note that not every map has been included in the list below for various reasons including high-quality conversions of the map already having been made by our team, assets from the map no longer being made available or due to height restrictions in Company Of Heroes 2 which were not present in Company Of Heroes.
