Sorry, but the price of this in the UK is ludicrous. We're being charged UK£39.99 for... single player DLC?

Really?

That's AAA pricing for an add-on for an 18 month old game

I'm a big fan of Relic but frankly they are taking the piss on this one.

yes, they are having a giraffe on this one.

Guys: please do not misreport Complexity - he was a Senior Admin for vCoH on the old boards, and knows what he is about - and albeit 'twitchy' with the Wehrmacht in vCoH (;)), you can always learn from him in-game ( and not just Kantai)

I don't give a shit about his bona fides. He's a troll.

Dear Relic - ain't buying this until the price drops to a level that isn't a smack in the face to your customers.

Look interesting and all but the price is discouraging. Maybe it has grate re-playability, who knows :). There are SP only games that go beyond CoH2:AA price point

Truth is. I suspect, (though I may be wrong), if Relic had had this SP ready, when they released WFA,they could have bundled up the price, and we would never have known how they apportioned the cost.

As it is,as many here are MP players,as opposed to SP players, who will (I think) find the cost prohibitive, considering the campaign is an adjunct, compared to where we want to be viz: MP

But ultimately, I suspect, it all leads to the beginning. The forced publication (albeit delayed)

What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.
Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden

No M8- he is not a troll. Trust me on that - or not, as you wish. (I spend a lot of my free time here presently, dealing with trolls)

I doubt if they are targeting you, or me, or (dare I say it?) Complexity ;)

I love single player.

The price point is indefensible.

Creative Assembly (Sega-owned) recently released sizeable content for Rome2 for... free.

I'm not a freeloader, entitled dick or DLC hater. I am, however, a Relic fan who bought the CoH2 CE at a time when it was a leap of faith. A leap of faith, I'll remind you, that resulted in a facial dick-slap.

TLDR I'm not buying this and I'm seriously not the type of fan Relic wants to piss off.

As for complexity... he's suggesting people who don't want to be ripped off are cheap. He's a troll.

If you really think it's so overpriced (despite knowing nothing about it) then just don't buy it jeez. I don't see what throwing a tantrum on the forums is supposed to accomplish.

Complexity is totally a troll though I think we can all agree on this :D

Tantrum? Hardly.

What I know about it is what Relic has published.

Name me another remotely comparable game where DLC matches the price of the original title, at frankly an AAA price. Quinn's 'Games as a Service' bullshit seems, to me, to translate into "charging you twice or three times for the same fucking game."

Please check my posting record and see if I'm one of the usual anti-Relic suspects. Because I'm not.

There are no games comparable to company of heroes, that's why we're all here.

And everyone keeps calling it "DLC" like they were getting armor for their horse in oblivion when it's clearly a whole new standalone game with new mechanics we don't know much about yet.

Games as a service, subscriptions, microtransactions, paying for the same game three times, or whatever label you want to slap on some kind of recurring payment system has existed since well before World of Warcraft was released in 2004.

Oldest example I can think of is Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction which was $40 and that was in 2001. I'm sure you could find a zillion others.

I don't really care about your posting record.

Romeo I respect your view and good luck. You are in a position in the community where you might even get a complimentary copy.

I'm not. And I feel like I'm being taken for a mug by a company I used to trust.

Am taking a big break from CoH2 which might be permanent. I'm not a multiplayer elitist - I love content like this. Which is why Relic need to get their community managers working overtime to try to justify this piss-take.

Good luck with that.

excuse me for playing devil's advocate

"waaah he disagrees with my opinion he must be trolling"

I'm not trolling I just think we all need to recognize that coh2.org is a competitive multiplayer community and this single-player content puts the majority of this board outside of the target audience.

THEREFORE, most of us cannot justify spending money on it since we're benefiting from it's release regardless (in the form of all the little multiplayer additions sprinkled in we're getting for free after release).

and THEREFORE, it's not a matter of "it's too expensive", it's a matter of "it does not interest me".

Sorry for interrupting the all important arguing on the internet here <444>_<444>

but....

Does anybody know more details about "Fox company" beyond what is advertised?

Is this potentially going to be a new Commander(s)?

Edit: I would also add the success of this content and the money it generates also keeps the franchise alive as a continuing video game product meaning we will see more multi player stuff down the line. To me, this matters even though I'm not a SP fan.

Mabye it takes a 40$ purchase to make it bug free :snfQuinn:

preordering is risky with any game nowdays studios can make garbage or gold but youll never really know till actual people play it, best to just wait
