ESL 2v2 Weekend Cup #8

With all the attention of the Company of Heroes 2 community recently focused on the 1v1 action of the Alienware Arena Cup, the time has come for a change. Our friends at the Electronic Sports League are once again hosting a 16-team, single-elimination 2v2 contest. Sign-ups are already open and it's first-come, first-serve, so get your butts in gear and get your names on the roster!

Semoskiy is currently closed for repairs after the shellacking it took during the last 2v2 Cup finals, so Cup #8 is moving on to virgin territory. The map pool this time around is strictly limited to community-made maps. DrunkinGambit's Overgrowth and Keine Rückkehr, or DonXavi's Derailing the DR-K320 are the sites of the bloody business this week, and we at COH2.ORG are waiting with bated breath to see how the contestants exploit the landscape to their advantage.

• Scheduled start is Saturday 21 June 2014 at 18:00 CEST
  
• Rounds One and Two will be played on Saturday at 18:00 CEST and 20:00 CEST respectively
  
• Rounds Three and Four will be played on Sunday 22 June at 18:00 CEST and 20:00 CEST respectively

Map & Faction Choice

Map Veto will be used to determine the map to be used in each round. Individuals will take turns in vetoing maps until one is left. That map will be used for the whole match.

The contestant on the left side of the match page will play as Soviets for the first game then Germans in the next game.

If the deciding game needs to be played then the player with the best Victory Point score from both games gets faction choice in the deciding game. For example if your team wins game 1 with 300 VPs and the enemy team wins game 2 with 200 VPs then your team will have faction pick for the deciding match. In the games you lose, your victory point score for that game is not included in the final total to decide faction choice in deciding games.
