That's interesting to see that the reason they were turret less was simply cost. Is there any other benefit other than money to not have a turret mount?

Yeah you see the low silouhette. The missing turret made it easier to cover the vehicle and to make it less visible for the enemy

Extremely interesting read. I think I've seen some of the stugs in a Finnish Armour museum but that's several years ago.

Yeah there are almost plenty of finnish StuG that survived the war and are now exhibited

nice one, now I know gun length is in the name of the gun; as a multiple of the diameter ( in this case 7.5cm)

Not entirely related but this diagram helped me to understand some armour jargon. For casemate design of a stug, I think its "Front casemate" instead of "Turret Face" for vehicle with turret.
