NEW: Technical Test Begins at 18:00 UTC
Who can sign up?
Anyone can "Request Access" via the Steam Store page and anyone that does should be able to play it, according to John_RE, Relic's community manager.
What to Expect?
The multiplayer tech test will have all four factions available at launch with each of their three Battlegroups. The four factions are the The United States Forces (USF), British Forces (UKF), Wehrmacht (Wehr) and the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK). The USF and Wehr reflect the Italian Campaign (1943-1944) while the UKF and DAK are set in North Africa (1942-1943). 1s, 2s, 3s, and 4s will be available as well as eight maps across each of the four game modes.
IGN’s CoH3 page has many articles and videos about what to expect on launch day. The US Forces Sizzle Trailer and the Wehrmacht Sizzle Trailer are great teasers about each unit. The “Final Preview” video gives a broad overview of what everyone will have on February 23rd. Alternatively, you can read what will and won’t be included by heading here and reading John's post where he clearly lays everything out.
There shouldn’t be any single player content involved, so if you were hoping to play more of the DAK campaign or try a newer version of the Dynamic Italian Campaign, you’re out of luck! Just another seven weeks, Commander!
NB: this announcement has been updated to include specific information about factions, battlegroups, and maps available, as well as confirmation that anyone that wants to play in the test is able.
