Welcome!
Hello, my name is Pigsoup. In this guide I will show you how to make tactical maps for CoH2 maps using Photoshop. I will thoroughly cover the process in the video below, but first, a simplified list of steps.
- Open your map in the Worldbuilder, download this tactical map template and put it inside the file directory where your map is saved, not exported.
- Bring "mapname_mm" into Photoshop.
- Draw water.
- Draw roads.
- Draw buildings.
- Draw the borders and hatches, and turn on darken edges.
- Three files have to be saved from the tactical map image and have to be put into your map folder before exporting the map package.
1.
The tactical map image as it has been created in the video tutorial has to be saved as a 24bit/pixel .tga file under
Code...\scenarios\MP\mapfolder\mapname_mm_preview.tga
2.
Create two copies of the previous file. Save the duplicates under
Code...\scenarios\MP\mapfolder\mapname_mm_high.tga
and
Code...\scenarios\MP\mapfolder\mapname_mm.tga
and
Code...\scenarios\MP\mapfolder\mapname_mm_low.tga
3.
That's it. You can now re-open your map in Worldbuilder and export the map as .sga using "File -> Export Package"
