Nice guide. But why you need panzergrenadiers if you can call stormtroopers?

Great guide. How are Stormtroopers different from Pgrens though? Bit of a noob at this.

Edit: Hmm. Looks like the Pgrens are way better vs upgraded Stormtroopers.

Although this guide is leaning towards 2v2, I strongly believe this is one of the best docs 1v1.

70 muni shreks on stormtroopers let you deal with m20, scout car, and t70 allowing you to skip t2 entirely and make a stug in time for sherman / t34. You can delay to a p4 instead, in most cases. The muni cost is a bargain considering its the same cost as volk shrek without OKW income penalty.

The 10 muni sprint on sniper is borderline game breaking - the same ability was just removed from soviet sniper.

10 muni sprint on grens + faust makes easy work of clown cars or to shoo away soviet snipers. Incredibly powerful with stormtroop shrek to follow up.

In 1v1, forget about "close the pocket", "breakthrough" and in 90% of games, "breaking the lines".

edit: don't forget to get t2 structure up after the first tank or 2 for pak

Great guide. This is going to be excellent against the Brits and hands down will be the new meta game for Ostheer.

One of my favourite (1v1) strategies with Encirclement is opening with two grens and a sniper, capitalizing on the obvious synergy of sniper + sprint. However, I try to get earlier stormtroopers upgraded with StG44s and use them in conjunction with the sniper. The stormtroopers sit in cover holding fire in front of the sniper, while the sniper baits the enemy into charging straight into the stormtroopers. Great fun.

Stormtroopers have weaker armour than Panzergrenadiers and will not stand up in a fight the same way. The Stormtroopers also require 100 munitions in order to upgrade to STG44's. This means that the use of Stormtroopers is really situational depending on what your opponent has.

Stormtroopers perform well against shocks, but not so well against guards for instance.

Storm troopers can be spawned from buildings and have many abilities including camouflage, hold fire and tactical assault. This means that they are a very good surprise assault unit and can be devastating if you open up at close range from cover positions.

Panzer grenadiers are better for the cost but Storm troopers have more potential tactical benefits

Due to the new patch I will need to make some small changes to the build orders. This will come in the next week

I've been looking at the Encirclement doctrine, and it's looking very tempting. How does it hold up after a good 5 months of patching?
