I don't care much about the action shots, I'm more interested in seeing the strategic elements of the campaign. The map looks pretty cool, reminds me a bit of Close Combat (which I really hope it is similar to!) I wonder if they'll take supply into account? I sure hope so. Even on a simple-ish level like CC with supply dumps and supply lines.

Announcing an upcoming patch before the patch hits is a great way of getting players excited for the game. Keep doing it! |
I love that Relic is doing something a bit new, like placing a map around pre-built mine fields. |
The map looks ok but the last 2 pictures gave me bad memories of Hurtgen Forest.
The map has a large village at its centre, open farmlands in the North, and tree lines in the South (what those pictures show). It's not like Hurtgen Forest at all; it's actually quite good (just played a 2v2 AI match). |
A nice surprise! |
I don't want a heavy tank for the USF because I feel it would compromise their unique play style. The fix needs to be done to the existing units, or by adding units that compliment their current play style.
First and foremost, games need to be balanced around 1v1 and, to a lesser extent, 2v2.
The only good thing, IMO, about a commander with a Pershing would be American players would stop picking Elite Infantry. |
Almost every review praises the sound of CoH2, and I'd have to agree. They do a great job of creating a battlefield atmosphere with the sound effects.
The USF easily have the worst voice acting, though. |
Yeah, there are plenty of people online playing at most hours of the day to have fun. |
With Ostheer, most times you won't have great map control - at first. The Allied armies are better at early map control, so I try and focus on one side of the map to control and lock down until Axis late game advantage presents itself. Of course, if you're playing a really lousy opponent you can push that a little more, but you really don't want to overstretch yourself as an Axis player. If you do, you leave yourself vulnerable for an Allied push.
I'm not the greatest player, either, a bit above .500 win percentage (you can click the little army guy under my avatar to see my player card). I mostly play 1v1, with some 2v2 sprinkled in. Your ability to multi-task and make quick decisions is a lot more important in these modes than in, say, 4v4, as a lot of mistakes are masked when there are tons of players. I focus on always having my units doing something, making sure I jump around the map and don't get hypnotized by one fire fight.
If you want, add me on Steam. My user name is "TheMightyCthulhu". We can play against one another for practice, and play some 2v2, too. |
If it's something close to a Close Combat campaign I'll buy it. If it's more like the original CoH2 campaign, I won't.
I'm waiting to see reviews/opinions, and some more details first before I buy. I won't be pre-ordering like I did with WFA. |
