Checking-in on Tournament Day
All players will have to check-in on the tournament page on Binary Beast. This also includes the players that are on the waiting list. If you do not check-in, you will not be able to play! The check-in procedure opens at 13:00 GMT and closes at 14:45 GMT. If you are in the "First 32" and checked-in then your spot is guaranteed. Open spots will be filled by players on the waiting list who have also checked-in.

Game Settings
Name convention : Players in-game names should match or be similar to the name shown on Binary Beast. Smurfing is not permitted. Any confusion caused by you playing under a different name is 100% your problem, and you may be kicked. We advise players to create an RO account that matches their BinaryBeast name if possible.
Game setup :
- 1v1
- 500 VPs
- Fixed Starting Positions (Leave ‘reversed starting positions’ unticked)
- Standard Resources
Custom maps: This tournament uses two custom maps. Download them here, an installer is included.
Factions : All factions and units are allowed
Replays : All players must save every game played, even when losing. Only one player has to submit the replays, but the referees may ask for the other player's replay for any reason.
Map Veto-system and Faction Choice
The players take turns and veto 4 maps (2 maps each) before every round.
Round 1 : Top player is "Blue player" and vetoes first
Round 2 : Bottom player is "Blue player" and vetoes first
Round 3 : Top player is "Blue player" and vetoes first
Round 4 : Bottom player is "Blue player" and vetoes first
Before each round :
- Blue player vetoes first map.
- Red player vetoes second map.
- Blue player vetoes third map.
- Red player vetoes fourth map.
- Blue player chooses faction or abstains and waits to choose last.
- Red player chooses faction.
- If Blue player abstained in step #5, Blue player chooses faction.
The chosen map will be used for all games in that series.
Best-of-3 match, after a 1-1 tie :
In Best-of-3 matches, if there is a tie after 2 games are played, the VP leader gets to chose faction for the 3rd (and last) game. Remember to write down the VP standing after each of the first two games!
The losing player will have zero VPs left. If a player is annihilated, their VPs are considered "drained to zero". The VP leader can be found by comparing who had more VPs left in the game that he won. It is up to you to write down & remember the VP standing after each game. If it comes down to the third game, it is up to each individual player to calculate who is ahead on VP and therefore gets to choose their faction. If you agree to go ahead with the third game, you cannot change your mind after the game has been played, claiming that you didn't know.
Best-of-5 match, after a 2-2 tie :
A similar system is used in the "ace game" of a Best-of-5. Faction choice still goes to the VP leader. The VP leader is calculated from the VP totals of the first four games. The VP leader will be the "Blue Player". Out of the 3 maps remaining, the "Blue Player" will get to veto the first map. The "Red Player" will veto the second map. You will play on the remaining map. The "Blue Player" will either pick faction or abstain. If he abstains, the "Red Player" picks a faction and then the "Blue Player" picks a counter-faction.
Anti-Cheat measures
Players have two options to prove that they are playing clean. Choose one or the other:
First option : Use the Screenshotter V3.31. Please ensure that you have this downloaded and have tested it prior to the day of the tournament. It is your responsibility to provide a working screenshot pack, immediately after each series. Please see this thread for troubleshooting information. Failure to provide clean screenshots will result in disqualification.
Second option : Stream your games. Make sure you notify one of the referees that you are streaming. You may stream the first 3 rounds publicly or with a password. Note that if you reach Round 4, the stream will have to be either shut down or protected by a password. Round 4 series will be livecasted on Sunday Night Fights, so public streaming of those is not allowed. When you stream publicly, we recommend setting up a delay on your cast. This is to prevent ‘stream sniping’.
Result Submission
Immediately after each round, the winner must e-mail replays and screenshotter packs to:
coh2.org @ gmail.com
(without the spaces)
Please use the following naming convention for the email subject:
R1 : PlayerA defeats PlayerB 1-0
Once your victory has been confirmed, a Referee will put you through to the next round on the brackets.
Remember that replays must be submitted after each individual game played in Round 4, and in this case, please do not put the result in the subject line, to prevent spoilers.
Adjudications
If any problem occurs that isn't covered in the rules, the tournament referees will have the final decision and all players must abide by their decision.
Exploits and bug abuse : Any player caught using an exploit or bug abusing will be immediately disqualified from the tournament. If you suspect your opponent used an exploit or abused a bug, please contact a referee before you start your next game.
Incorrect Settings or Server Crash : In the event that matches aren't played by the map rules (fixed positions etc.), the server goes down or a game drops for both players, the game will have to be replayed.
Kicking : Kicking anyone from a game is not allowed
Connection issues : In the event that you absolutely cannot connect to your opponent due to NAT failures or other problems, the Referees may decide to shuffle you around in the brackets to try to find someone you can connect to. In the worst case scenario, if you cannot connect to any opponent after several attempts, you may be kicked from the tournament.
Missing Screenshots : If a player (who did not livestream) fails to provide screenshots for one of the games, the other player can claim a win for that game. However, the other player can also decide to not challenge the game if they believe no cheats were used.
Cheating : We take intentional dropping/cheating very seriously. Any player caught doing either will be immediately disqualified from the tournament and barred from all future SNF Season 4 tournaments.
Unforeseen events : In the event of a drop, or any other problem, both players should take manual screenshots and save the replay. It is your job to provide us all the necessary information, and if you can't provide it, we will not be able to help you.
One minute allowance : If a player drops from the game before 1 minute for any reason, the game has to be restarted. There is a 1 minute allowance to make sure you all don't have a really bad connection to each other. In the event of this, restart your game and try again.
Late disconnection : If the game crashes after the one minute allowance, we are asking both teams to be as fair as possible regarding the situation and try to discuss and agree on the best solution for all. However, as previously stated the final decision will rest with the tournament referees.
Communication
All players should meet in the COH2.ORG in-game chat channel on Relic Online.
