Alienware Arena Cup EU and NA Finals Weekend
Presented by Sunday Night Fights and Rogers 'n' Pounder

Fight fans all around the world have been watching the CEVO Alienware Arena Cup with rapt attention for the last two weekends. This tournament, which dropped with nary a word of advance notice, has caused a tremendous up-swelling of excitement among Company of Heroes 2 competitive community members. For weeks leading up to starting bell the top players vanished into seclusion to prepare for the toughest fights of their lives and for the chance to win a share of one of the largest prize pools ever for a Company of Heroes event. When these colossi emerged to take each other on, mano-a-mano in the squared circle, the crowds were gathered, frothing at the mouth, and howling feverishly for blood!

European Division

The first weekend of the European division brought out some of the biggest names in COH2, but there was thrilling action on all stages. The first day saw a gargantuan Round 2 clash between CptEend and E-zy that set the pace for the rest of the weekend.

Spain's Jesulin, the man to beat according to the vox populi, steamrolled all opposition, earning his spot in the winner's bracket finals without dropping a single game. Meanwhile Cruzzi, the fightingest Finn in the free world, sent Germany's Luvnest to the loser's bracket with his well-executed, imaginative strategies. Sunday Night Fights' reigning champion, BartonPL, was unable to repeat his past successes and succumbed to Twister in what analysts are calling among the greatest series of fights the COH2 world has yet seen.

Twister 2-0'd Cruzzi to gain his spot against Jesulin in the winner's bracket finals, but after so many games against such strong opponents, Twister was unable to resist the Iberian Annihilator's relentless onslaught and after two hard-fought games was hurled down to the loser's bracket.

The second week of games gave the defeated a fresh chance to pound each other senseless for the right to challenge Jesulin for the throne. Luvnest squared off against BartonPL, but the puissant Pole displayed the chops that got him the SNF crown, eliminating Germany's finest once and for all from the Cup. Ami & IpKai will bring you the remainder of the Lower Bracket battles during this week, but if you can't wait to know the results, open the spoiler:

North American Division

The North American division contained no shortage of drama and carnage. CieZ took down his clanmate RtN.Con 2-0 and proceeded to inflict the same treatment on miragefla before being forced to retire to the loser's bracket by his fellow American VindicareX in a searing 2-1 series. The bottom-half of the bracket saw a commanding performance by the Saskatchewanian slayer OMGPOP! POP crushed all opposition in the first two days of the Cup, losing only one game along the way, to California's DanielD.

VindicareX and OMGPOP! butted heads in the winner's bracket finals on June 8th, a match much anticipated by fight fans from Kiev to Kuala Lumpur to Kokomo, Indiana. It was a savage struggle for ultimate hemispheric supremacy, and OMGPOP! knocked VindicareX reeling down to the loser's bracket, where he sits, plotting his revenge until June 21st.

VindicareX won't get a free shot at POP again, however. The remainder of the loser's bracket fought tooth and nail with palpable hunger on over three days. When the dust had settled, DaDokisinX had managed to send home for good such formidable opponents as RtN.Con and CieZ. This coming Saturday, June 21st, DaDokisinX will go toe-to-toe against none other than the very man who banished him to the loser's bracket to begin with, VindicareX.

Wrap-up

The final hours of the CEVO Alienware Arena Cup are fast approaching, fight fans! Will Jesulin continue his streak and take home the title of champion or will a resurgent challenger or Twister strike him down? DaDokisinX and VindicareX prepare to bludgeon each other senseless in the loser's bracket finals. As OMGPOP! looks on, does he fear usurpation or is he cocksure enough to imagine his suzerainty unassailable? Whoever emerges victorious, you can be sure that every sinew-shredding blow and blood-curdling cry will be caught by the indefatigable teams at Sunday Night Fights and RnP!
