Avatar Gallery Blog Part 2: Behind-the-Scenes

In this second part of our three-part blog series featuring Stummingbird's custom Avatar Gallery drawings, we present his first vehicle renditions, as well as the original infantry collection, complete in high-resolution with preliminary sketches! The artists amongst you will appreciate that everything began with simple pencil and paper drafts, before any work on the computer. What is so interesting about these drawings is how they take a purposefully naive genre of digital art (MSPaint, anyone?) and transform it into a strong design style. When your final destination is a tiny 100x100 pixel Avatar space, you've got to keep it simple.
