Thread: Typical day on COH2 Balance threads29 May 2016, 00:50 AM If the balance forum required playercards and to have experience with all armies and did not allow obvious fanboys (from either side) we wouldn't have half as many threads and might actually achieve decent discussion. As it is now, a large part of the balance forum, are not actually interested in balance, they just want shit nerfed instead of actually learning how to deal with stuff. People can't admit when they have been outplayed either. Maybe you lost because the other player was just better. They come and go from both sides with every major patch and its always the same. We have people actively posting in the balance forum and even creating threads who: Do not have experience with all factions Have clear biased views Would rather jump to "nerf x" than asking for help in actually dealing with problems Hell we have people who play 5 games with a faction and claim that stuff is OP. These people need to come back when they have a respectable rank with a decent win % instead of crying OP when almost all cases, the issue is not with a unit or faction but their ability (or lack of) and willingness to improve. Im not saying that you need to have x rank to be able to post because some people actually bother to have a discussion and put foward a good arguement. Mr Smith is a perfect example of this. I don't know what his ladder # is and it doesn't matter. He puts forward well thought out posts that actually encourage discussion. He puts a lot of effort into his posts. These are the type of posts the balance forum should be filled with. Neither of those are effective. While that is true, does it apply to everybody? There is probably only a small % of the playerbase that would do that and even know they could do that. If you are rank 2000+ then maybe that is an effective tactic. Something you will also find is that most high ranked players (assuming no bias) will have a decent understanding of how to counter bofos / emplacements. When Skylake first launched, it was far more expensive than DC and at some points made sense to buy it but not anymore. Thirdly, Skylake uses a newer chipset offering newer technology's than DC does. No point in not getting the most for your money when there is barely any price difference. Fourthly, 5930k is generally a horrible choice from a price to performance ratio, since it is quite a bit more money (£150~) for .1GHz extra (ignoring the extra PCI-e lanes, only needed if you are running more than 2 GPU's or lots of PCI-E based storage). Thread: GTX 1080 New PC Build26 May 2016, 10:44 AM Probably the best CPU to go for would be a 6700K though if budget allows, going X99 and a 5820K might be a good idea (CPU is similiar in price but its a 6 core 12 thread cpu vs 6700k which is 4 core 8 thread. Motherboards are a bit more expensive though). The extra cores would be better for streaming, though the 6700K will be faster in games that cannot utilize multiple cores. Motherboards do not matter so much anymore. If you are not using a dedicated sound card (PCI-e or USB) then getting a board with upgraded audio is worth it. If going 6700K then get some kind of Z170 motherboard like Cyanara suggested. All depends on your budget really. I think it is you who is narrow minded believing you are forced into playing defensively as Brits. Your post would make much more sense if you were having issues with emplacements. If you are having problems with Brits when not building emplacements then either: Post some replays of games where you are having problems so people can help you improve. or Perhaps at your ladder ranking, people struggle to counter emplacements properly and so it appears that playing with emplacements is the only way. I mean either its some kind of "air burst" shell that causes the suppression, or just have the ability only supress but do 0 damage for every round (if that is possible). In: COH2 Balance
