I think it would be intersesting match-up for tournaments. Not too unrealistic either, t-34/85s did fight easy eights in korea. |
Volley fire and rear echelons are just completely useless units. Volley fire is just a horrible waste of 20 munitions, most of the time. |

Yeah i guess we should shit in the face of PGs, Assault grens and Strums as they work the same way yet have no armor. Awesome work.
Assault grens are 0 cp and have sprint which allows them to close in. They also are 5 men, making them more durable than soviet squads.
Sturmpios and PG are not close combat units, they are mid range units. They excel at mid range. Not close range. This is why so many people think that PGs are useless, because they use them wrong.
And all of these units are cheaper than shock troops. |
Anyways, you can see, that most good players nowadays will simply skip getting conscripts and getting 2 of them or so.
Then proceed to make 4 maxims or 3 snipers. And when you face such a strategy, sure IT is beatable, i'm not complaining about balance here, ask to yourself. IS this FUN? Is this fun playing againts? Is this what COH is supposed to be all about?

Well, sadly, soviets have to rely on such dumb strategies because core soviet infantry is horrible, and even elite infantry, gaurds are rather mediocre. |
Yeah, graphics and sounds are suprisingly were alot better in coh 2 beta.
Also, for some resaon, back in coh 2 beta, all units had different vet 1 capabilities, then relic decided that all of those need to go and replaced with medkits/ tripwires |

Hmm, shocks are 390 mp doctrinal , pure AI infantry that is only effective at close range.
If anything next patch shocks are getting a buff since long range combat is getting or should get reworked.
All close combat or mid range units at the moment are underperforming, not overperforming, and relic has acknowledged that. |
I don't understand WHY relic nerfs these things while NOBODY COMPLAINS THAT THEY ARE OP.

The thing is, i feel that all vet abilities need a rework.
I mean sure, tripwire flares on conscripts are fine, they add some utility to them. However, tripwire flares on shocks, gaurds penals are completely wasted...
Same with capture point, they are decent on say a t-70, maybe on a t-34, but on IS-2s,, kv-1s, they simply aren't usefull.
The only vehicle that it would make sense to have blitz is the panther, other german vehicles were rather slow, and mobility is supposedly one of the advantages allied tanks should get, yet with blitz that's all negated.
I feel that t-34s are the tanks that should get blitz, is-2s and kv-2s should get some kind of "breakthruoght assault" that temporarily causes their main gun to pin enemy troops, tigers and PIVs could get something like aimed shot for the puma or something. Panther could get it's blitz ability. KV-1s should get hull down, like the PE PIV that makes them fire faster.
Blitz is just one of those abilities that make the su-85 completely useless in 1v1 way.
M36 jacksons aren't so affected, because they have a turret and do collosal damage. |
