All flares are locked behind some tech vet. Why is mortar given a free pass? Considering that performance/durability of mortars are about the same across all factions now. strange to get this extra ability Ost has which native units with higher LOS? Mortar flares are not uncounterable. You counter them by killing mortar. Mortars are locked behind a tech. In: COH2 Balance

So you are saying rifles are OP??? The same rifles that do 8 dmg? The same rifles that do NOT have 75% moving accuracy? The same rifles who need 2 full volleys to deal enough damage to kill a model? Did you meant THESE rifles? Or some other kind of 16-14 dmg, rapid firing, 75% FOTM accuracy allied squad which I am not aware of? Lower their weapon damage to 14 and give them 5 g43's maybe with the same stats a rifle grands or something with better long range or what ever. Them being able 1 volley models is bull. That would make things so much worse its not even funny. OG jeagers had 5 G43, it was 2nd most overpowered infantry squad ever concieved in this game right after old OKW Jeagers who outranged all other infantry, had enough sight to utilize it and had passive perma sprint, you could kite to death everything that wasn't vehicle with them, while with ost JLI you would just run up and kill on retreat everything, G43 shoot rapidly enough its irrelevant if they do 16 or 14, they'd have to do 12 or 10. You have posted about forced retreat. I have posted in replay about changes to forced retreat. It couldn't be any more relevant, regardless of your mental gymnastics why it wouldn't be. Prop arty is: -delayed -unreliable -now comes with flares Officers forced retreat is instant. Don't expect such powerful skill to come without any downsides, it already got pretty hefty buff. It target a single unit, comes with debuff and cost more (if I remember correctly). Sturm Offizier The boosts to hostile squads near a unit that has been affected by Forced Retreat is being removed. This better reflects the ability's high cost and will make it easier to use this ability. Forced Retreat no longer improves the performance of hostile infantry near the retreating squad. You deal 200 damage instead of 160. The only way this will ever have effect is two camouflaged Raks firing at a T70, but this is almost going to make a difference in a real game. Other scenarios? Double Rak on dozer Sherman? But by far and large, that's about it? I think this could be changed to something more useful. +100% accuracy for a guaranteed first hit or so. I'm not saying the Rak really needs it, but those additional 40 damage seem fairly useless, even if you run around with two of them at all times. I guess it would be situational with allowing faust snare threshold for certain tanks. In: COH2 Balance
