My only three problems with CAS are that I got it like a week prior to the event and thus I really wish they would just have made different commanders. Like a Soviet CAS commander and a German Advanced Warfare commander instead of being lazy like they were.
Apparently its too hard to give soviets air support commander despite the fact that sturmoviks were wrecking havoc on the axis units all the way to berlin with all types of different bombs and gun fire.
And ostheer default weapon upgrades and T4 is advanced warfare already, axis got 44-45 stuff for their late game while allies use mainly early war units(excluding USF which have pretty standard equipment).
I got that from here and it says it's up to date. Is it wrong?

Not necessarily, I might be wrong here.
But I'm quite confident that I remembered that being changed to something like 300 for ML-20, 200 for LeFh and whatever for B-4. Checked the patch notes as well and couldn't find it. Oh well.
Also Im not sure if AA will kill anything before strafe.
It won't.
While its possible to shoot down the plane, its extremely unlikely that it will be done before it unloads its payload on target.
Even loitering planes, 100% of them deliver first strike.
AA is made to counter these loitering planes, its completely useless against single passes, excluding soviet fuel drop which makes no sense.
penetration for all the big howitzers is set at 1000. There is absolutely nothing they can't pen. Changing penetration means literally nothing for them.
The problem is low damage, high scatter, slow rof, and long cooldowns that means that they wont hit anything, and if they do it's not that significant.
In coh2 originally it was intially the best mg in game.
But since coh2 is full of whiners it got nerfed into the pathetic form it now resides.
Yes, exactly that.
It had absolutely nothing to do with the hard fact that it was the ONLY unit you needed before armor(5 min KV-8 known as 251) arrived and with 0 micro if would pin squads advancing on the opposing ends of the arc.
Whoever says USF does not require more micro late game clearly have not played against equal opponent using heavy armor or against OKW shreckspam(I did not wanted to call anyone complete moron).
Relic themselves said allies are much more micro intensive late game due to lack of heavy armor(which is easy to use compare to mediums) and there are still people who want to argue that?
Just because someone uses sherman or jackson effectively doesn't equal to it being used easy, you loose focus for a split second and you have a smoking wreckage, do the same as axis and you have to press blitz and warp away for repairs with your heavies.
