Oh whew, glad to know I can get some viable AAA options at 12CP late game.
Luckily (as some troll earlier pointed out) axis don't have airplanes that need defending against so no need for AA options early late or mid!
Germans have no air force ... From the makers of soviet snipers are op, clown cars are op, and tiger tanks suck.
its amazing what rubbish some people spout off

@Rogers: You think they stoped with DLC Commanders? (I don't think so).
There were questions about solutions:
For a moment lets look at LoL.
-You pay NOTHING for the standard game.
-You can buy everything remotly relevant to gameplay for ingame currency.
-You can buy Skins only for real money, that have no impact on the game.
What do you think, on which game did I spend more money? It's LoL. And I didnot bought any champions, only Skins. Seems to work pretty good.
When I buy a skin in LoL I think: This is a great game, with a fair buisness model, I want to help the devs, and I feel absolutly not bad buying something useless for real money.
When I think about buying something in CoH2: Everything except Commanders is out of question, firstly because its too pricey for what it gives, secondly "you greedy bastards get not a cent more from me, then what I have to pay for your Commander ripoff". Then I think about buying Commanders. When they are not on sale its totally out of Question. For 50% off I will maybe buy 1 or 2 and still feel bad about it.
So we see: The solution is a fair buisness model, where people want to spend money on useless things, instead of a "perceived" unfair buisnessmodel in which people who really like the game will feel forced to buy something and feel bad about it.
Just another example: I actually bought Dow2 Retribution at the Wintersale, AND I bought a Skinpack in addition. And it feels great. (Ok, it was pretty cheap, but its pretty old also, not even supported anymore and and and.)
If we have to keep Commanders (which we have, because they are alreay here) fair offers should be the solution. They just need to make a "multiplayer" pack, which includes everything relevant to multiplayer that will be released in the fututre, and was released already. Make it 15€, and I see many people spending way more money on this, then what you would have otherwise gotten from them. And they are happy. Or ATLEAST bundle up the Old Commanders.
I think partially why people (me included) are butt hurt over the dlc commanders is that they made us buy the game and on top of that expect us to pay more for the rest of the content that we didn't get with the initial purchase. If you're going to make every new commander cost money why not just make the game free? Instead of being greedy bitches and trying to get more money from the small player base that your shitstorm of a business model managed to not push away.
I personally refuse to buy any of the new commanders. And if no one else did either they might realize that their system is flawed. But as long as poor sobs are still putting money into elite troop doctrine because its busted and gives them a better chance to win (cause they're too bad to win with default commanders) relic will continue doing what its doing |
Tanks
That is all! lolololol
I hear is2s do a great job of clearing bunkers. Just wait till you get one of those, call it in and clear the bunker ... Then you can start playing
*facepalm* |
The way to counter bunkers is not to give the Germans the chance to sit and build them in the first place.
If they have built a Maginot Line it's your own fault for letting them
This is the funniest thing I've read in a while. Don't allow them to put up bunkers? Why didn't I think about this!?!?! Oh wait maybe its because the axis mg bests the soviet mg to the choke point and cocks it up long enough (~12seconds) for 2 German squads to throw up a bunker. And ince the first one is down they cover each other.
Also with regards to countering them luckily sovs have early guards to handle it ... Oh wait that got changed too hahaha. Pro balance! |
Potential "fixes" in my mind:
have flamers do massive DMG to bunkers
Have upgrades for bunkers have a pop hit (maybe 8-10)
Allow gunners to be killed
Give soviet mortars increased accuracy vs buildings when thru have s spotter
Give soviets bunkers and make it even
As it stands now bunker spam is obnoxious lol

I'm not going to say the game is pay to win cause I haven't bought any dlc crap and I do okay. However no one is going to convince me that the last batch of commanders (elite inf and sov industry) weren't made op to entice people to buy them. This does seem very pay to win-esque. Additionally the fact that there is no way to get this content without buying it also feels like a pay to win model.
A few others games that I know of have a better setup in that you can pay to get early access to the gameplay content but eventually everyone gets it (not skins there are some that are dlc only which I'm fine with since its cosmetics). If coh adopted a similar start I think the people crying pay to win would be silenced. Release a new doctrine make it available exclusively thru dlc for 3 months then give it to everyone free. People will still buy it and there is no perceived pay to win ... Seems like a win win to me |

Sorry mate but Soviets needed serious tweaking either you agree with it or not.
Oh is that why axis is winning most of the tournaments? (didnt they sweep snf?) It would appear that they do need "adjusting" but i fear the current "adjustments" are going in the wrong direction. |

Is this the sound of the German QQwagon revving its engine? It looks like the German cry babies got everything they wanted from the last patch plus some additional crap so they're looking for something new to get butthurt about?
Removing soviet snipers and making them doctrinal? Are you serious? Let's do the same with pgrens and see how the tears will flow lol.
A good player can counter guard/sniper very very easily. I generally directly charge it with upgunned scout cars and smoke screen when buttoned (you know ... the i-win button that gets you out of every bad situstion). Its even easier now that you get smoke screen at the same time as guards come out. If you can't pull off defending against snipers/guards you should really consider playing a different game as this one may be not be aligned with your skillset, or just take the losses and not cry on the forums :/ I suck at sports games ... And instead of complaining about them and expecting developers to dumb them down to my level i just don't play them.
Edit: there is nothing wrong with asking how to deal with something I'm sure most people have done that ... But coming in with the nerfguns a blazin' is rediculous |
Interesting, that. I find the Pershing to be quite good against both infantry and armor targets. It seems to be better than the Tiger at infantry targets and roughly equal to it in AT. But its HP seems to be a bit lower if penned. Against Panthers, it can beat them quite readily but like the IS-2, it will get mauled.
The important though: Unlike the IS-2, it is also available at an affordable price and quantity (Only 1 Tiger at a time for Germans, while Pershing you can call-in 2). The Pop cap is 14. (compared to 12 for the Panther) This makes the US Armor commander very essential for long games. The Calliope is also very useful and durable w/ an affordable price.
I've never read the exact figures so this is just guessing based on experience.
----------------
Like coh2, I find the US/CW in VCoh to be annoyingly vulnerable to German heavy armor and tank destroyers: Most obviously Panther, Tiger, King Tiger, Jagdpanther. Out of 6 Allied commanders, this makes only the US armor commander w/Pershing viable for long and big games.
The CW's chief non-doctrinal response is really just the expensive, back-tracking 'Glass cannon' firefly. (which requires a lot of investment, like the purchase of the cromwell tank with no MG) Unfortunately, these don't have the armor to go toe to toe offensively.
Their churchills are like the Kv-1s....meatshields with pea-shooters.
Worse, the CW don't have a manhandled anti-tank gun and have to rely on fixed emplacements, which require fuel and can be bypassed/knocked out by infantry/indirect fire. As a faction, the CW is handicapped in the AT department once the fireflies are knocked out.
You're forgetting one key thing for the CW. The roo!!! And the insane physics defying piat! Put a piat squad on solid ground and they can't hit shit ... But put them in a mobile transport and watch them become piat snipers haha. I loved rolling around with three roos to bring 3 luitenants 3 been squads and as many piats as possible. Bring a Churchill or two to soak up initial damage and you're golden
All in all I found that I enjoyed cw the most out of every faction so far (coh2 included) even before I discovered the hilarity that was the roo It was certainly a flawed faction but it was still awesome!! |
Here's a complete noob question (I can't believe im asking this and am kinda ashamed of myself) but do tanks have the same movement speed going forward and reverse? It doesn't feel like it in game, and it woukdnt make sense, but im really note sure. |
