Exactly. And if you want to be a anti-RNG fundamentalist, then where does it end? Shells that always penetrate, or never? War is hell, and chaotic. This is not Starcraft.
Exactly. And if you want to be a pro-RNG fundamentalist, then where does it end? A dice roll at the start of the game that decides the winner? War is hell, not a boardgame. |
What is affected by such gun stats as [Scatter Distance max] and [Distance obj hit min]?
How big impact on hitting vehicle on range 10 would have difference in [Scatter Distance max] of 0.5?
(I know that when accuracy check failed, scatter comes in and shell still may hit infantry models or collide with vehicle hitbox)
not cruzz, nor an expert on the game mechanics... but afaik distance scatter max is te farthest the projectile can hit from the target (smaller values are better since you might hit with aoe or whatever).
distance obj hit min i have no clue, but my guess would be that it is the minimum distqnce an object has to have from the hardpoint in order to get hit.... on the other hand, i'm not even sure that makes sense. |
Can't really tell whether it's only with abandoned/recrewed BCs, but all infantry that you stick inside of a Bren Carrier will always have Lee Enfields when you zoom in on them. Doesn't affect anything but the animation.

not a bug. reinforcement cost multipliers are saved at squad level. |
Thread: Centaur4 Nov 2015, 08:53 AM
it is a matter of fact that the ostwind is faster while the centuar have better armor and smaller size.
The last remaining important question is the firepower of the two vehicles. Assuming they kill infantry at the same rate then the centuar need a buff in its speed.
Again: Nope. The unit is not underperforming. If you try comparing costs vs. stats, then Ostheer Grenadiers should probably cost like 100MP per squad. The unit is fine and buffing it just because it got nerfed last patch is nonsensical (and, by the way, with the same logic pretty much all axis heavies need a price reduction because the churchill is so cheap). |
Thread: Centaur4 Nov 2015, 03:40 AM
the centaur should be better, it's more expensive than the ostwind.
yes, 40 mp matter. Either buff the centaur's speed or lower the cost of the centaur.
nope. i'm sorry but 10-15 second longer wait does not warrant a straight up buff to a unit that is perfectly fine. especially since the IS reinforcement cost was reduced as well. |
Thread: Centaur4 Nov 2015, 01:35 AM
No. Sorry, but simply no.
The centaur still performs well. It is nowhere near the killing machine it was, and rightfully so. The only justification for a buff i hear is "it was nerfed", and that is a shitty excuse for a buff. It has a certain purpose and performs very well at that. Buffing units just because they've been nerfed is not how balancing works.

stuff
while you do address some valid points, if you boil it down it's basically that some DLC commanders are BS for one reason or another and some abilities are just bad for the game.
both of those points have been brought up pretty much since the game has been released (or even before that). the state of the game right now is at least better than it has been for the last two months. while i can understand your frustration with the game, i can't really understand that you think this patch is somehow worse than the last two (especially since at least 4 of your 5 points have been around for ages). |
some of the points raised are bad/invalid for various reasons already mentioned (especially flames being good against garrison/cover... always has been like that, is completely fine in and off of itself, also weapon upgrades being straight upgrades is not an issue just because they are an all around upgrade).
some of the points raised are not a new issue, but have been around all the time (mortars or indirect fire units in general being (too) strong, abandon/crits and skillabilities).
one thing i'm missing from your post is also straight up number issues (as in units being straight up too strong for too long). issues that come to mind are bofors, brace, centaur, churchill, wasp, or generally almost all brit units. while quite a few other units also fit in here, especially the centaur and flame tanks pretty much broke the game for 2 straight patches or almost 2 months of playing time.
loiter planes are just insane, but not just the loiter abilities themselves. both CAS and P47 just kill everything in their area of operation and self scout. if you think back to coh1s henschel strafe, i think it was a good version of "loiter" ability (for those that dont know: planes dont scout for themselves, you have to give LOS; planes will only start strafing if tanks are in AoO).
in total: there are LOADS of issues with the game, but most of them are NOT new, but instead have been in the game for ages (especially bullshit DLC commanders/units/abilities like rifle/elite company, to a certain extent maybe even CAS; units that seemingly have no counter/only inadequate ones or, the inverse, units that seemingly don't counter anything). ISG/pack howies should not suppress/pin, no idea how anybody could have thought thats a good mechanic. autofacing getting removed i don't really care too much about. also, no words about vet scaling on infantry being completely off, or blobs being way too efficient. |
Great idea!
Can we make T34 immune to pfausts as well while we're at it, because it sucks when it can't move fast?
love it!
more of that kind of stuff pls... how about giving static defenses the ability to ignore damage for like 30 seconds? or tanks that hardcounter AT guns with nades? sounds awesome!
and since axis needs that kind of stuff as well... how about an ability for the Pak40 that instapins all infantry in range? or a piercing shot for mg42s, that wipes mortars that shoot at the mgs. nah, maybe too op... lets give them a 15 muni "infra red" upgrade, so MG42s now ignore smoke :-)
almighty katitof always jumping to the defense of allied units, no matter how OP... |
