Just so you know, they will STILL release ToW packs and commanders for the EF factions. Why do people think that because they've announced this they'll stop working on the EF factions entirely? Do you not realise that they've been working on this expansion for a while? They probably have seperate teams working on seperate things: a team working on the western factions and a team working on the EF factions or something. |
Relic said you can even make a match soviets vs USA............
Yeah, in a custom match. You can already play Soviets vs Soviets if you make a custom match. Do not panic, they won't do Ami's vs Soviets in automatch. |
Probably Engineers if they're M1 Carbines. Rangers don't really have any reason to be using Carbines, those were mostly handed out to Airborne troops and anyone who's not General Infantry but still needs self-defense.
They were handed out to NCO's and men who had to carry ammunition and other jobs like that too. But yeah, they're probably engineers. |
But US soldiers wearing winter clothes in the middle of summer makes no sense. If they are rangers or engineers then I hope to god that their model is a placeholder. |
|
The US soldiers in the brown coats are just winter riflemen, I'm sure of it. Those brown coats were common among soldiers during the autumn and winter of 1944.
They probably just put them in there to show them off. |
i see coh2 is now destroyed. really wanted to see the eastern front gone all the way to 1945... there are tons of tanks that the sovs could have gotten...
why would they abandon the sovs and ost?
how the fuck is this going to be balanced when sovs and ost arent even finished?
why not make new armies that were on the eastern front and give sovs a more classic type of army type?
americans and soviets together? no thanks. if they put custom game lobbies where you can kick the idiots who play eastern front and western front together i might start playing again.
Just because they're now making a western expansion doesn't mean they'll stop making EF commanders or ToW's. |
There are 4 patterns that the US used on their tanks that I know of, a pattern with black stripes over the base green, a pattern with orange-brownish stripes over the base green (similar to the Soviet central front skin), a pattern with small, short yellow stripes painted everywhere on the vehicle over the base green, and a pattern big yellow stripes over the base green (this one was used in Italy).

There was also a picture of the small yellow stripe camo but I can't find it right now.

Panzer III still had limited uses. When something makes up most of your mechanised forces, it doesn't just vanish when you move into the next version. They had plenty of Panzer III's left, they just stopped making them and a lot of them were converted to StuG III's.
They were still in use as command tanks, for example. |
They could realistically depict the Jagtiger by making it break down and get abandoned...
Seriously though, the Jagtiger was one of the worst, if not the worst heavy AFV that the Germans fielded in WW2. The elefant was a much better vehicle. The difference in performance between the 2 was comical.
I have the combat histories of jagdtiger units and their record is pretty pathetic. They were deployed in 2 heavy tank hunting battalions. They had entire companies lost without any kills, and more Jagtigers were lost than Allied tanks destroyed.
Tiger Ace Otto Carius' company only scored 1 sherman kill and lost all 10.
Luckily, this is a game. |
