"Looking back, I recall asking my captain why command was so interested in this little town, what possible reason could there be for taking it. I'll never forget the answer he gave me - 'Because Jerry wants it'."
The combination of rural countryside and natural chokepoints means victory will go to the side who can best exploit the landscape.
The classic French/Belgian summer Semois is back!

Credits go to Relic for creating the original map, then converting it to CoH2 and changing it to an Eastern Front map, and then me for changing that back into a Western Front map.
Thanks to James Hale (mandead, SB#1) for testing the map with me. |
Ah, that explains, thanks! |
Okay, so I have this weird bug where there are dark stripes all over the map. The brighter the spot, the less visible they are. I have no idea what's causing it.
Here's a pic of it:

Definitely watching it for the tanks. I remember watching "A Bridge too far" and wondering what German WW2 tank those Leopard I were supposed to represent. This was awkward.
Still I can´t help the feeling that the movie is going to have some frustrating stereotype shit in it.
The Tiger will of course lose to the Sherman. Choose one of the following:
1) The Germans get cocky and do something stupid.
2) Brad Pitt does a sacrifice to kill himself and the Tiger.
3) Brad Pitt has a super intelligent plan that would never work, but does work.
4) The Sherman just breaks the law of physics and destroys the Tiger without problems.
In "Saving Private Ryan" - also directed by Spielberg - socks were sufficient to get rid of one of the Tigers.
Either way... the Tiger won´t make it out alive in that movie.
They blew the Tiger's tracks with the Composite B socks, leaving it defenseless against the dudes climbing on it and killing the crew. |
Again bullshit patriotism US movie. 5vs.300. I ask myself how Germany earned their fame with "Blitzkrieg" "Elite-Units" etc. if they are all running straight into their death, running like chickens outside of bunkers (Shaving Private Ryan) or running from right to the left like in Band of Brothers....
Saving Private Ryan is barely a patriotism movie. The US soldiers shoot surrendering Germans just as much as the Germans shoot surrendering Americans. And gee, no shit you run out of your bunker if you are surrounded by the enemy, what the fuck else are you supposed to do? The unit that defended Omaha wasn't even elite, they were just regular infantrymen. |
In the movie it's meant to be a M4A3E8 though. The US Army never used M4A2's or 4's. |
That's not an M4A2. It's an M4A3E8. |
Close Air Support and Advanced Warfare were available for free for a limited time, as part of the Make War Not Love promotion. They have never been available for purchase on Steam; if you missed the promotion originally they were not obtainable, but now you should be able to get them as war spoils.
Storm and Armored Assault were available as part of the Collector's Edition, or separately as DLC from Steam. You should still be able to purchase them if you want them, but failing that you can get them as war spoils.
Tank Hunter and Not One Step Back are not yet confirmed to be available as war spoils, though they are in the game as I've seen at least one developer use them in MP. They have never been available in the live game previously, and they've never been up for sale as DLC.
AFAIK both Tank Hunter and NOSB are both obtainable through war spoils, several people have gotten them IIRC. |
Um, I'm pretty sure you mean the Iraqi 9th Armored Division, the US 9th Armored Division isn't even active anymore and no US ground troops are even deployed to Iraq right now. |
Wow those are awesome, thanks for posting those. Do you know if they have different versions of the T-34, like an M1942, M1943, M1944? I'd like to see those side-by-side. I have trouble spotting the differences through Google pictures
All I know for sure is the M1942 has a square hatch on the rear and the M1943 has a circular one. It's also difficult because the way the Soviets did things at times, so you get M1942 chassis with M1943 turrets and vice versa.
They don't, they only have the T-34/85. |
