Call me crazy, but in regards to OKW Panzerschrecks:
What if Sturms and Obers can both upgrade to 1x schreck?
YOu have two units that are hefty in manpower cost, long build times, one is late game, and both smaller squad sizes. Their role is augmenting the usual AT of vehicles and Raketen. Volks' job is to defend both from infantry attack.
The difference with Obers is you can opt to upgrade to LMG34, which locks out panzerschreck and make it super AI.
You can't possible blob Sturms and/or Obers just for schrecks.
Result: OKW still has schrecks, but 1x and in small expensive squads.
What do you guys think? Just a quick thought.
Obers with schreks are just a noob trap. 400mp Xammo 10supply squad with 1 shrek? Not worth it, ever. |

I don't see how you love Paratroopers with thompsons when Rangers with thompson are similar or better and packed into a good overall doctrine (heavy cavalry) whereas paratroopers are not.
If I could choose between rangers and paratroopers inside the heavy cav commander, I would pick paratroopers though.
2 reasons. The first is the concentrated fire ability, which rangers do not have. Second reason is.. I don't have heavy cav company. |

Doesn't look like a nerf to me at all.
It just turns the SU85 from a medium-tank destroyer to a heavy-tank sniper. This is good as now it has a more defined role that is not simply 'one and a half SU76 rolled into 1'. |

I'm a fan of the COH franchise. One incompetent balance dev wasn't going to keep me away from it. And no, I don't hold a grudge against you. If I hire a plumber to fix my toilet, and he takes a year to fix my toilet with multiple extra pipe brakes before getting it right, then he is a shitty plumber. Nah fam. I don't hold any grudges against you. But I am not going to ignore how bad at your job you were. Things like the broken tiger ace and the OKW shwerer crush truck were all released under your watch. I am honestly surprised they did not kick you to the curb long before with your poor job performance. Some community members made a lot better balance mods than you ever did, and they even did it for free and within short time spans. |
Pretty much everything in this patch is either good or excellent except the Volksgrenadier and the mine dmg vs infantry change.
Mines will now never score any kills on full health squads. This will mean that aggressive mine placement is now pretty useless against UKF and OKW with their free self-healing abilities. They need to at least cause a death crit on the triggering model to cause some form of manpower bleed. It's silly that you can step on a mine and survive.
Volksgrenadiers with STG44 upgrades just interferes too much with every other OKW infantry squad, be it doctrinal or nondoctrinal. Sturmpioneers, jeagers, fussies, obers, falls... they are all anti-infantry specialists that cover the whole range spectrum from close to far. Most of these units are now obsolete because volks can do it too. Why would I now go for panzerfussies? They were the most appealing thing in that doctrine. Why would I now go for multiple sturmpioneers? I would have preferred have OKW keep their panzerschreks since they will be getting a buffed MG34 as a stock unit to deal with enemy infantry. |
