It’s not that the “level of efficiency is effectively rather low” it’s “every time you try to take this Bofors out it’s going to cost me drastically more resources than the cost of the Bofors.” Hell, most of the time walking into the Bofors sight for the first time will cost a Grenadier, Volks, or scout car. There is really no reason not to choose the Bofors, comparatively the AEC is nowhere near the power level and a teller with kill a full health unit most of the time.

Alright. I am just going to step in here and say that this is absolutely false.

Meanwhile the OKW Luftwaffe Flak gets decrewed by a single grenade. If static weapons are meant to take a hit, why are Brits the special snowflake that can brace? I would very much welcome a significant price increase to the Luftwaffe flak for the ability to stand nades and brace.

The 2cm flak can under no circumstances ever be as potent as the bofors. This is simply due to faction design. To get a bofors, one must sacrifice the AEC, and with it, the only aggressive AT tool that they have up until medium tanks. You can outmaneuver and cap around Bofors. Against a very aggressive emplacement user that has placed the emplacement far forward. You can even baserush the enemy and kill him with an all-in type strategy since it only has machine guns to defend; though this latter strategy is only really available for OKW.

The OKW flak 2cm has none of the weaknesses associated with the Bofors. OKW has shrecks(soon also snares), the puma and the Luchs. Their base is also defended by 2cm flak guns that defend well against light vehicles. If the 2cm flak would be like the bofors, you could just plop one down on one side of the map and focus all your attention elsewhere with no fear of enemy light vehicles pushing off the map and killing you.

I noticed this problem as well. Flames are not effective at all at destroying buildings. Even two flamer teams will take a long time to set buildings on fire, and some buildings are completely immune to flames.

More like pseudo-science snake oil. Tell us how a goliath would get close to a bofors emplacement?

While the game is in a better overall balance state than it has ever been, and the new balance patch is making it even better, there are a few minor changes that I feel could further improve it. These are:

- Make UKF and USF minesweepers occupy a weaponslot.
Reasoning: Mines are a fundamental mechanic in CoH2 that can win games. For Sovs, Wehr and OKW, investing in more than 1 or 2 sweeper squad puts quite a dent into your armies overall combat efficiency. Pioneers and Combat Engineers are cheap but have no real combat value when armed with sweepers. Sturmpioneers suffer less, but their veterancy scaling is poor and their value as a combat unit decreases a lot from the midgame onwards. UKF and USF on the other hand can achieve mid- to lategame 'immunity' to mines without sacrificing combat efficiency due to the weapon racks system. Royal engineers and rear echelon troops can be transformed into very cost efficient AT squads and getting 3 of these squads is a very good investment. Considering that these units can still sweep mines, it makes laying mines pointless for the opponent. There has to be some form of choice made with these units: either you give your cheap and low supply squads 2 extra weapons to make them good combat troops but can't sweep mines, or you can get them a sweeper and only 1 extra weapon to provide some mild supporting fire.

- Make Wehrmacht medkits heal squads to full health.
Reasoning: This one should be obvious. You are paying 20 ammo for a vet ability that requires two squads to work, but it only heals like 40hp. There really is no reason for a vet ability that is used by so many units to be this bad.

Eh, I think the Goliath change is pretty meaningless - any Sim City worth its salt is going to have a Bofors that'll make it impossible to have the slow ass Goliath close distance. If a Goliath can reach the Brit's emplacements then that generally means you've already got it countered barring some insane maneuver on your part to creep it in close. (Never mind that's its still in a pretty meh commander overall). It's a nice gesture though.

Simcity isn't that potent in 1v1, and in teamgames you can ask an Ostheer ally to cover the approach with smoke for your goliath. Could bring forth some interesting gameplay moments!
