Minor problem.

Ostheer can hold as long as they like vs USSR and USF because they are also not too good at holding land. This means Ostheer can hold, then counter attack (Defensive vs Offensive)

On the other hand, holding against UKF guarantees you a mortar emplacement and bofor outside your base. So you kinda need to push, but then cant push but need to push. Mortar emplacements have no counter (Mortar emplacement >>>>>> Mortar team) for Ost, and have sufficient range to threaten more than just the VPs and fuel if you are too defensive.

Why would you play defensively against UKF? Get a sniper, force them off their fuel. Laugh as they have no early game counter (universal carrier is the worst sniper hunter in the game).

Nothing wrong with the Tiger 1 in my opinion. Though I wouldn't mind it getting a slight buff in it's main gun accuracy and seeing it get tossed into T4 instead of not requiring tech (like T34/85s; this is my opinion on all medium/heavy call-in tanks).

Just plain buffing it would make Mech Assault PAK40/StugE/Tiger even more potent, which is already a retardedly good and easy strategy.

2 Yes, at top 1000. Really it good example for countering light vehicles? Furthermore, you need T1 and almost every infantry has that.


3 It's not that cheap, 210MP is quite big for unit without any armor.


4 Urban maps? Hmm, I think there is actually two or even one...


5 PaK is very good against heavies, terrible against light with his aim time. Need at least two which is heavy investment


6 In most cases, you are forced to play something with Ace or Tiger, won't work. Also, 250 is too expencive to do fancy thigs like that.

1: If the enemy is going for a light vehicle rush, you don't need to deck your army out with LMGs ASAP. With your standard grens and MG42 you can fight of conscripts just fine, unupgraded Tommies and Rifles just fine. If the enemy is going for weapon upgrades and grenades first, their light vehicle will be delayed significantly. Also it's not like you'll be facing 3x double BAR grenade flinging rifles at the 8 minute mark while you would be having to decide whether to buy your first LMG or getting a teller mine.

2: Who said it would have to be the only counter? It's part of Ostheers repertoire to have Panzerfausts available pretty much from the start. Unlike.. Oh I don't know... every other factions? Soviets have to dump resources into side tech, Rifles need to vet up, Tommies don't even have snares.

3: 10 mp and 15 fuel more than a Osttruppen squad is cheap. "no armor" is a load of crap. It does not have a lot of armor, but you are not going to lose half your hitpoints from fighting a tommie squad.

4: La gleize Breakout, semoisky summer, semoisky winter, arnhem checkpoint. They are also fine on semi-urban maps with a decent mix of shotblocker and buildings such as Kholodney Ferma.

5: Saying you need two PAKs to counter a light vehicle is like saying you need 4 snipers to counter a HMG42. "X countering Y" does not mean "X killing Y the moment it enters line of sight". "Countering" in most cases just means fending off. If you are having so much trouble defending against an enemy light that you need 2 PAKs, you might have to evaluate how you were using your first PAK40 in the first place.

6: If you need a tiger ace to counter enemy lights then I just don't know what to say.

I don't agree with your opinion on Ostheer. Ost has quite a few ways to deal with light vehicles.

There is the nondoctinal teller mine that 1-shots all light vehicles.
There is the nondoctrinal faust that you don't need to unlock.
Nondoctrinal and cheap scout car that counters light vehicles cost effectively.
Nondoctrinal Panzerschrek team for urban maps.
AT gun.
You can combine these units in several ways or you could supplement them with doctrinal stuff such as the panzerschrek 250 clownhalftrack.

The 60 fuel treshold for T2 is fine since it does not only provide a broad repertoire of units, but also includes grenade and LMG tech.

As for dealing with MGs in buildings, Ost has snipers, nondoctrinal mortars with smoke, nondoctrinal flamers and nondoctrinal grenades. I am sure you can find a way to combine these units and abilities to clear a building.

The AEC is simply the best option for the Brits. Not only does it deal with Panzer 2s, 222s, 250 halftracks etc. It's also pretty dandy against infantry and allows you to push the enemy back. Not going for the AEC ASAP is shooting yourself in the foot I'm afraid.

Vet 1 sniper still cause engine damage to full hp light vehicles and light tanks.
