A hull-down Panther out ranges Jacksons so it's good on that vehicle. Ostwinds are also quite nice with Hull Down. On P4s it's rather 'meh' and it would make them a lot worse at flanking heavy tanks, which is not a nerf they deserve. |

I mean, unscreened AT guns vs a KV8 and upgraded guards. 1 half health AT gun that retreats after his first shot, and the second AT gun stops firing to retreat while still at 5 men and then gets caught in an unfortunate death-loop. |
I'm going to have to agree with the OP. The KV-8 feels really meh. It's priced on the high end of medium tanks but I don't feel more threatened by it than say a p4 in terms of anti infanty power. |
Tough question the munitions abilities are fairly well balanced with no ability really sticking out that much.
What probably gives you the most bang for your buck is Close The Pocket if you get a good cut off going on. Some other sector targetting abilities like the UKF howitzer overwatch also give a lot of bang per buck in team games where there will always be a lot of units in front-line sectors. |
I agree with you. Infantry play tends to completely die out after 20 minutes. I think it's because the ratio between small arms fire damage and explosive weapon damage is completely lopsided in favor of explosives. The game would be more interesting if small arms fire got a boost in effectiveness and/or explosives got a nerf in damage. |
id like to see JT get a flare ability, similar to 17p and remove the barrage ability.
The JT comes in a doctrine with Panzerfussiliers, which already have flares. |
In the late game everything dies more from explosives than bullets because of all the yellow cover everywhere reducing small arms fire dps by 50%. That seems like a better thing to adress rather than buffing a single squad. |
I don't understand why people want nerfs for snipers. Did you guys see how often they were used in the tournament? Barely ever. |
I don't think CoH2 is a game where you can have a lot of discussions outside of balance topics. There isn't a lot of depth in terms of build orders and strategies. Units are all relatively low-impact and you can't really ever go wrong with normal build orders. Instead, games are mostly decided by micro and on-the-fly tactical decisions. A lot of games are won or lost by simply by one player out-playing the opponent, rather than one player having a superior strategy over the other. This is of course fine, and it is not a criticism of CoH2, but it just means that there is often not much to discuss.
Compare this to say, Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty (I don't know how much has changed since then..), where there is less constant action. In that game, it's way more about strategy - build orders and timings are worked out to a tee, games can be won or lost incredibly fast with sneaky build orders and cheeses, and failing to scout or counter specific units in your opponents build will get your army destroyed in seconds. This type of game lends itself much better for discussions.

Emplacements should have never made it into the game to begin with
Units should have been given options to set up hard points if they needed UKF to have a defensive feel. But no. We got expensive, easily countered, immobile units taking up a quarter of the UKF stock roster.
How much better literally everything about the Brits would have been if they could just build a 3 inch mortar and garrison it in a trench or dig in somehow with sapper support.
No longer would we be saddled with an all-or-nothing unit that can't retreat to preserve its veterancy... you know. That core, fundamental aspect that the entire game is built around? With a unit that can move as needed to support a moving frontline?
But no. We got emplacements. And UKF is still awfully designed garbage.
The sooner we can all forget emplacements exist, the better.
I mean, the OPs suggestion would make them more like regular bunkers in power level and cost, but give UKF an unique mechanic where you can bolster the emplacement with an infantry unit. It could work. |
