??? Stuka dive bomb has a incredible long and loud sound and in my opinion, its obvious where it is going to fall, lol.
Also, like IL2 strike, it cant be used on moving targets and also when you call it on top of enemy units, enemy units will shout *airplanes coming*!! or something like that.
Just move units a bit and voilá, munitions wasted, like IL2.
Even so, it's much easier to notice 4 red flares pinpointing the exact landing zone that an high pitched sound that roughly indicates that a bomb is coming.
If you are convinced that stuka dive bomb sound is as noticeable as the flares, then I don't know why are you arguing. Just support IL-2 Bomb Strike having the same sound warning since you think that it doesn't gives any advantage in relation to flares. |
For me, a big first step would be making all factions able to fight early infantry engagements on a equal footing.
Micro should be the decisive factor to win first battles.
Having factions with starting units that clearly are superior to others changes the game to a cat & mouse chase since the first minute, which is not really fun, specially for the player with the worst unit.
That is not really an allied issue only, but I think that axis early game is much more flexible and adaptable. USF only has rifles and Soviets are locked in their choosed tier.

Currently, playing as random faction would be equal to playing as allies.
But yes, it should be implemented and probably rewarded with more exp o better chances to have a war spoil drop. |
Maybe a narrower firing range would offset its mobility.

I like this idea.
Making Kubel something alike to Maxims. Very good to pin lone squads but unable to stop blobs. |
I don't think they would serve much purpose in the game. Their role would overlap with shock troops except they're not as great as shocks. i.e Poor man's shock troops
+1
Too many short range units in soviet army. |
so once again greeb what is stuka bombing supposed to do? germans have no button up at all. it doesnt matter that button wes nerfed you still have it compared to the germans.
Well, you can remove the flares, like stuka dive bomb, or just show one flare at a random distance where the bomb is going to land.
Currently, 4 flares marking the exact landing point + the long time it takes the plane to reach the zone makes useless the ability against anything that can move.
It's 200 ammo. Other factions have for that price stupid things like Close the pocket artillery. |
The sad thing is that most balance issues are identified by the community since months ago, but Relic doesn't do anything about them.
Barely all soviet useless stock units, Ost expensive T4 and Tier structure + call-ins in general are waiting for a patch too long.
Delaying them only makes people to lose all hope.
Even more, the secrecy and lack of information by Relic doesn't help to increase people's expectations. |
But the problem is not really conscripts. The problem is the Soviet design philosophy of 'you can only build half your tech', combined with 'soviet tech buildings are specialized', combined with 'you need to fill the gaps with doctrines', combined with 'lol joke, only half of the doctrines can actually fill the gaps, half of which play more or less the same with 1 or 2 different abilities'.
Yeah, but even that " We don't know what to do with soviets" philosophy doesn't explain recent nerfs like the received accuracy increase in conscripts and ZiS.
Those changes are not bad faction design, they're intentionally nerfing units that were underpowered before.
I can't understand soviet's approach in last patch, and it would be great if a relic team member could explain what are the thoughts behind them. What kind of gameplay they want to achieve with those changes, because I only see more and more Maxim/Sniper spam into ISU.

If you dont know, why do you even comment, you piece of gemsbok
Kronosaur0s, is answer was legit, don't troll.
We are complaining because IL-2 Bomb strike was only useful against non-static emplacements thanks to Guard's button. Only stupidly slow things like an Elefant can still.
Take away button and the ability is just useful to destroy OKW trucks, which it isn't even needed due to the late stage of the game where you unlock it.
Nerfing button indirectly nerfed Bomb Strike a lot. |
Voted yes.
As soviet player I don't want to Maxim/Sniper spam anymore. There are other RTS games with a deeper and funnier gameplay.
And I don't want to invest time in getting competitive with another faction.
