if the reinforcement cost is 50 hit the button once and for the model to appear. The next model will be at normal price.
Thanks this explanation made the most sense |
I will add that while adding smoke is not a bad suggestion, that does mean there will be ten whole seconds for your opponent to react. If they have half a brain they'll be able to pull their units out well in time. I personally like the proposal of having a plane icon which only appears on the tac map, plus the jericho sirens.
I really don't see how this is a problem, other abilities have long arrival times as well, like TOT artillery, which drops smoke. These abilities are supposed to be ineffective against moving targets and highly effective against stationary or disabled targets. |
CoH can work in other wars. |
hmm, so it's not as horrible as an m6, but timed right it will assure destruction. Sometimes in team games a bunch of my allies will send a gang of tanks to a heavy tank destroyer. If I sent a vet1 AEC it would be screwed. |
I never bothered with this ability before this last patch. I've been playing some British the past two days and have been using this ability every game to see how well it works. I had heard it was buggy before, but I'm not getting any bug. It's firing the shot, but no treads are getting broken. Just some temporary engine difficulty on the target and then they are fine (well usually it's under attack by other stuff and gets destroyed). So, is this ability supposed to do some kind of horrible permanent damage to the target, like immobilize? The description does mention that there are two outcomes, I just keep getting the one that is easy for the opponent to recover from. |
Sherman HE makes them run everytime too
absolutely, but I find the Sherman will miss or generally have less desirable results more often than the m8. The m8 also has longer reach. Both of them you have to get lucky with the scatter, but I find the m8 is more effective and frustrates my opponent into taking more risks than normal. Kind of like hitting on a girl that is drunk, instead of the much harder sober approach. |
I admit I did not look up numbers, I was solely basing what I mentioned off the video, in which the m10 took 2 pak40 shots and 1 tiger hit, leaving it at 5% and damaged gun. It looked quite likely that a death roll was possible on the 3rd shot. |
I've been pondering this for a different reason though. That point blank mechanic that was introduced in CoH2, well it seems that it would eliminate cover benefits so close. So, wiring off the cover is not useful for troops that advance on you, while you are in that same cover. It only seems to be helpful if you block off some popular cover that you would expect your opponent to use in a later engagement. |
I typically don't buy it. If you get it in the right situation, the dps can be beautiful. However, it's clumsy, with low health, low armor, and slow speed. It's just not worth the high 50 fuel price. I'm talking post recent patches too. I would say 7 times out of 10, I can do more with an m20 and spend way less on fuel (but still get killed with a gigantic 340mp cost, wtf). |
It's a 3 shot kill on an m10 right now. That video was luck, because the main gun destroyed critical happened instead of destruction and then the tiger missed the 4th shot (the guy had the tiger moving backwards when it fired, so no surprise). So are you wanting to reduce it to a two shot kill or 1? Maybe we can just give it a 30 second doom counter, so if the USF player doesn't send it into your kill zone by that time, it just self destructs. |
